Holger Girshweinder is needed to rehab Dirk
Dirk has his unique ways of training and he learned them all from Holger. There would be nobody better to get Dirk to 100% other than Holger....

I'm at the point that I'd rather have Dirk sit than watch him continue to play.
Not because I think he's hurting the team, but just because it's too painful to watch. It's like somebody stabbing me in the heart every time he touches the ball.
It's one thing when your favorite player declines naturally over time, you sort of adjust incrementally... but this is too sudden it's like being punched in the gut every time I see him out there.
It hurts too much.
Man I hope he can get right.

You can definitely make the argument he hurt the team tonight. In the other games? Absolutely not. He's consistently had a good +/- and his mere presence, floor spacing, attention, passing, rebounding, and yes defense, helps the team immensely (as long as he isn't going 2-15 like tonight).

The only reason I wouldn't say he hurt them is because they didn't really have any other options. It's not like there was someone better they could have put in, in his place.
But whether he's hurting them or not, it's super hard to watch. I don't think I've ever seen anything like this in sports.

Americans have trouble with spelling "sch" and "ind" in German Names. They say "Gir-sh-wein-dner" a lot, even on national television.

Dirk does not belong on the court period. He is going to totally blow his knee out if he keeps this up. He has no confidence in planting firmly on the injured/wore down knee and he's making some awkward moves. There's been more than a few times where he's planted his legs into some awkward positions or just flat out pulls up limp.

I'm with you. It's really tough, it's like seeing your son struggle. I just don't know what to make of it, I would expect they really needed a longer than 8 days, but if his knee has stopped swelling then I can see going on it, but dang..

Such a fall from the level he was operating in the playoffs. WOW. Way too many jumpshots too.

It appears holger has been in town for a little bit.

Dirk and company
Saturday night, Dirk and his inamorata Jessica Olsson dropped by a pre-concert reception along with Dirk’s shooting coach-cum-spiritual adviser Holger Geschwindner. There, they had a chance to catch up with van Zweden’s daughter, Anna-Sophia van Zweden. Last fall, Anna-Sophia and Jessica co-chaired the swank art auction for the MTV Staying Alive Foundation at the Goss-Michael Foundation’s Design District art gallery.

i know...but writing should not be the problem
btw. Americans have problems (personally i think Americans are lazy in that aspect) with a lot of names..."Nowitzki" or "Dirk" for example

You are wrong, he doesn't look nearly as bad as he was. He's still having issues but before he was sat down he wouldn't even try many shots.

This is because, for whatever reason, we aren't posting him but 1-3 times a game. You have to figure it's knee related. There's no other explanation for totally abandoning Dirk's money making offense.

Dirk is playing the same way he did pre-2009 when he changed from being a jump shooter to a post up guy.

Yea, it's gotta be the knee more than conditioning or what ever else. There's no way you go from imo the best basketball player in the world to what he is doing now.
I think as much as it is the team isn't posting him, he himself isn't getting into position with the determination he had last year. I have had knee injuries before and it was worse than his, but I'm watching his movements and I can imagine his pain and the lack of confidence in planting it to the ground to make a hard cut or to leap, a jumpstop makes me cringe when I see it. I believe internally he knows that if it were the playoffs, he would lay it all down on the line and commit to the drives, spins, the plethora of moves he laid down last year. He just needs to work harder to post himself and open his game up to more than fade away J's (When he starts to feel a bit better and gains confident that he won't re-injure it). I'll be looking for him to get his inside game going really soon in fact, he needs a few trips to the line.

I agree. He doesn't look comfortable going to the post, which I assume is why they aren't posting him. Conditioning has nothing to do with being unable to catch it on the block, so it has to be the knee bothering him.

Dirk took 15 shots, he did post up but was missing...that's all. He didn't however drive at all which speaks to a physical problem.
