Christ, just got finished watching the first half. It's not even enjoyable...worse than usual. Like they said, it's devolved into the Rookie-Sophmore games. When I hoop at the gym and games turn into this, I just walk out.

Dirk with 7 points, 4 boards, 1 assist and a +9. Not too shabby, all things considered.

Nice brick Durant. Nice.

All star games are like watching sports center highlights.....boring after about 3 minutes.

In an all-star game...

i probably did, or didnt even watch... but 25 shots? thats clearly a MVP hunt and thats what sucks in all-star game tbh. bench players stand there doing nothing when they were selected as ALL-STARS too
and ofc 37 min when Nash played 4? maybe Brooks is the guilty here...

Gotta admit, that dunk by Westbrook was nuts and the choke by Wade was even better.

He's exaggerating, simply because even three point specialists don't shoot 88-92% in practice on a regular basis. Reason I said Peja is because that's one of the few guys who I think could actually hit that many that regularly. Perhaps I'm underestimating their skills, but from the videos I've seen and whatnot that's just a bit too high of a percentage.
Anyway, my question got answered. And of course, to be clear, I'm not hating on Dirk of course. What can I even say about him...he's one crazy mf'er.

It doesn't make sense to me that the all-star players get selected by the fans and coaches while the all-star coaches get there purely by record. It's not the coach's fault if, for example, the players show up to camp out of shape and get their butts kicked for about two weeks straight before getting their act together.

I think the whole All-Star Event is completely underwhelming. They basically promote every event to consist of the best players in that category (Overall - ASG, best shooters - 3P contest, best dunkers - dunk contest), but, surprise, that's not nearly the case.
I mean either you go for the show (how about the 3P contest only for centers that normally don't have the range? That's funny, I'd watch, really.) or make this one a more serious exhibition and add something that makes it worth to compete for.

It is a complete joke. Ive never been a fan of the entire weekend. Actually the three point shootout is about the only thing worth watching. The rest of it might as well be mascots on trampolines.

Wade broke Kobe's nose during the game??
I don't know how serious a "nasal fracture" is... will it require a Hamiltonian mask?

After the game, I saw Dirk and Dwyane Wade give each other a "Pound". I haven't seen those guys acknowledge each other since Game 1 of the 2006 Finals. And I'm pretty sure they hate each other, or maybe Dirk doesn't hate him anymore after finally getting his revenge.

He's not exaggerating at all. Wide open, in practice, yeah, they do. I once watched Gilbert Arenas hit 29 straight threes.

I think either in Seven Seconds or Less, or in someone's commentary about it, somebody is talking about Amare making a high percentage of unguarded three pointers left-handed at practice.
NBA players are crazy good when they don't have other NBA players trying to stop them.

Are you suggesting to go full retard and do what Selig did with the MLB? Making a silly exhibition game in the middle of the year decide who gets homefield in your sport's championship series??
This has to be the dumbest idea in sports ever. Might as well get 2 random people to play the game on the PS3 and see who gets homefield. Same concept.

It's an exhibition for 3 quarters 8 minutes, then the losing team makes a furious comeback making it a game the final 2 minutes. The pick and go between DHo and Lebron was great to see. Don't change a thing....the game itself, the dunk contest, snooze fest. they should make it an in game dunk contest, pull out the top 5 dunks each quarter, have a vote, and tally off a vote on the top 4 dunks in each quarter.
