PGT: 0-3 Mavs fold, fake-ass Mavs "fans" gloat about predicting the loss
I hope it feels good to be right when you bet against your team - I got to be right last year when these same people were predicting a quick playoff exit (although they'll deny it now), and it felt damn good to watch my Mavs piss in their Cheerios.
Enjoy your victory, fellas...

oh high and mighty Underdog
You speak as if those taking punches at how bad we are and how we have no chance aren't simply Mavs fans that like to play the pessimist card and hope for better.

Can't wait until this team is a contender again.
Wonder what it would take to trade for Tyson Chandler.

Hahahah if I'm one of those people you're implying, this is hilarious!
I'm not happy the mavs lost. I just think a bunch of the mav fans on here are unbelievably delusional. That includes you. You said the mavs were going to win the next 4 after game 2! Come on man! Just because you called one playoff season right last year doesn't make you a basketball genius.
So stop saying we are gloating. I can't speak for everyone, but a lot of people who said we weren't going to win were looking at things realistically. This team is horrible. And still, game after game, I would see people like you making excuses.

This team jut never got in synch this season. Whether it be because of injuries, the condensed season, and of course the Lamar Odom fiasco. I just hope the Mavs win one game to stave off elimination.
Just about time to prepare for next season and hopefully a big FA splash.

Some picks and some youth so the Knicks can blow it up for the 5th time in 12 years?

The Mavs were in a tough position. I felt that they were not going to win the championship again and it is better to find the replacement. The Mavs did sacrifice a year. I can live with that.
The only way to improve is to sign a big free agwnt, or land a superstar in the draft. Re-signing their own players wasn't going to make that happen. So better to cut ties and try and land someone when you have a chance.

No ones gloating. Our heads just arent buried in the said Mr holier than thou. Team needs to be rebuilt bottom line. And I wasnt one predicting a loss. I said Mavs still have a chance if they get a win tonight. It was obvious that wasnt happening after the first half. Sad way for the vets to go out. I love this team regardless but changes are coming.
I think at the moment im more mad at Cuban than anyone else. Time will tell though.

Any chance at Lamarcus Aldridge in the offseason? Texas native along with another Texas native could brings things back around.

Carlisle was horrible. The players were bad but they were never in position to do anything other than desperation one on one attempts. It was the same ineffective high p'n'r over and over. They should have done more post ups for Dirk and more side p'n'r (right side of floor) with Dirk & Terry. He also put the team in a bind going with Haywood for so long and not having confidence in Wright.

I know I'll be slammed, but...I've not been impressed with Carlisle since he got here, even though we won last season. The mavs just blow too many fundamentals of the game. Rampant turnovers due to poor passes, lack of effort on offensive rebounding, constantly not blocking out, not driving and drawing fouls when we get the other team in the penalty early in the quarter, late or nonexistent defensive rotations leading to constant easy layups and dunks. I understand the players have to do all these things, but I wonder if RC is even reminding them about this stuff since these things just keep happening.

The hope was always that we could put together a "good enough" team without Chandler and with 1 year contracts. Fact is, we just ain't good enough. Last year was the total triumph of team. This team only played together 8 games after the defusing of the Laker time bomb.

Yeah I'm not even mad at the players at all. They are a little old, a little injured this year. And after winning, I don't believe the full hunger is there.
But I don't blame Cuban either.
Look at payrolls. Which team going forward would you rather be:
The Mavericks or the Knicks?
Exactly. The Mavericks while not as good as last year have flexibility to improve leaps and bounds. The Knicks? Not so much with Amare and Chandler on the books forever. (Btw they amnestied Billups. Mavs still have their amnesty.)
Some just need some perspective.

Totally agree.
As humiliating as a first round exit is, losing in any round this year could have been a deathknell and we'd spend years living it down. We hope for a freeagent, work some magic with our assets and hope our draft pick works out. Nothing is a sure thing but Chandler/JJB weren't either.

Is that what you were doing when you made this thread after a loss in the Portland series on our way to winning a ring?
Neat spin...

Too tired to be angry anymore. It is what it is. Weary, stressed, beaten. With that being said, looking forward to the off season. I know they need the rest.

The come back should have started tonight. After losing this most important game, it's very tough to imagine a come back at all. Even if we do come back I don't think our guys have the energy to push through LA and whoever else we have to face on the road to the ship.

Are we not entitled to be legit pissed when the MBT blew up the team that won the championship for Dwight (who won't be coming in the summer for sure, probably never) and Deron who also may never show up?
Oh and one of the guys we let walk was the DPOY, who we traded for won a 'ship the first season we had him but let him go.
This team will still have issues even if we do get Deron.
Or maybe Deron realizes this himself and chooses not to sign here.

Oh and I hope anyone else besides Miami and the Thunder win a ring this year. I hope Kobe or Duncan get a ring over those two guys. Can't stand LeBron/Wade/Bosh/Durant/Westbrook/Harden

The NBA continues after the Mavs are eliminated? I sure as hell won't watch a single game or read a single score.I may watch that awful remake of Dallas though.

I usually don't get to watch the games due to time differences, but i got to see the 2nd half and wow that was not anywhere close to "good" basketball.
Not sure if they weren't interested in winning or the threes that OKC kept hitting was taking what little wind they had out of the Mavs sails.
But seriously down 0-3 really does suck. Ill hope for the best in game 4 but the lack of good scoring in the 2nd half has put some doubts in my mind

well... this was disappointing but not really surprising. We don't have a very good team this year - we got no-one who is consistent outside of dirk. And Kidd, Carter and to a lesser extend marion and terry are really showing their age.
Anywho... this was always a transitional year so I'm ok with it - as long as we land a big fish this summer or some medium salary really good players. OKC is stacked right now with all the high draft picks from their sucky seasons... but they wont be able to keep their top 4 guys once they all come off of their rookie contracts.

I miss the times when Mavericks message boards were trolled by fans of the opposing team. I'm not sure what the hell is going on here anymore. What, I'm supposed to be ashamed for believing my favorite team can still win this series after those first two games -- after what the Mavericks did as recently as last year?

Seriously the stupid is strong in this thread.
We got all those guys and a second rounder for a first, part of the MLE and scraps of Vet min. I'm not sure what else you'd want or if your hindsight is making you feel all high and mighty. That was a seriously weak argument.

A lot of us felt the same way about the whole TC situation. The way that played out will continue to be a hotly debated topic.

thats really a weak argument. We offered chandler a 20 mil 1 year contract. thats more than he is getting paid in nyc. And frankly with dwight now likely not going anywhere we probably would have given him a long term contract after this season. but he wanted the safe bet rather than going out on a (golden) limb.
Anywho.... need to make moves and get younger in the offseason. hoping to get williams and a better center.

Cheap and nice, but at the end of the day they ARE TRASH. Nothing more.
Look at SAS or even at LAL (Sessions). No risk no fun.

So our 7th man, 8th man, 14th man and 15th man aren't that great despite the limited assets we had and the limited assets we used to get them?
Great point. I'm sure you are very proud of that.
