A wild claim with no data to back it up.

Are you talking specifically in the NBA finals or the WCF finals?
In the WCF finals, he disappeared during the official post-game celebration, not immediately after the win.
In the NBA finals, I personally would have liked to have seen him stay on the court and acknowledge the Heat (dont think any of them were still there anyway - they hightailed it to cry in the locker room). But as stated above, he did seek them out later after he had gathered his emotions.

It doesn't matter which series we are talking about, if we are talking about absolutes. The point is that Dirk didn't see the importance of some sort of cultural ceremony.

I was asking because those are the 2 moments that I specifically remember him walking off the court, with it being caught on tape.
I said for the WCF, he did stay on the court after the game.
For the NBA Finals, I stated that I would have liked to see him stay on the court. I did not agree with his leaving. So i was answering your question.
I love dirk, but I don't change my opinions based on what Dirk does. I've played and followed sports much longer than dirk has been on the radar, and I'll continue to do so long after he retires and fades into the sunset.
Also, since when is shaking hands a cultural ceremony? You are making a way bigger deal out of this than it is.

Chum is uniquely capable of taking a clear issue of sportsmanship and turning it into nonsense about "cultural ceremonies."

This is from the guy who thinks Adam Morrison is a pussy for shedding tears.
A "sportsman" wouldn't say that.

Throwing blimps, as usual. Nice, nice.
Hang on again, if you will, while I prepare my response to your insightful and relevant comment.

Don't bother. It's entirely predictable.
