No credit on Dirks nickname. No one outside of some local/mav fans call him either of those.
Kobe gave himself that name, he has been just Kobe for a much longer part of his career.

I think dirk has the "diggler" tag out there. Which I would never be averse to.

Somebody wrote on realgm that if Crowder does this well, that will be a big win for stat geeks. I guess he had to be a big impact guy in college, with great advanced stats. I'm a big believer of advanced stats.

Hell, DoJo has a nickname. And judging by his play his nickname should have been Shart.

Dirk's nickname should have always been The Dude, because he is that dude.

Dirk is "Dirk" and Kobe is "Kobe". Turning their names into a brand is the ultimate thing.

I asked Crowder after the game if there's been a nickname he's heard that he feels is a good fit for him. He simply said "The Beast."

Don't like it. Too much like Marshawn Lynch. And also too much for him, at this stage.

I might give him "Yard Dog." Not "Junk Yard Dog," but just Yard Dog.

Marion to miss at least the next three games.
Well, i hope it doesnt cost us games but this is kind of a good thing: RC has to throw Crowder now into the game. Overplaying Carter isnt a solution.
If Crowder plays solid RC knows that he is definatly a solid rotation guy allready.
