Collison, Wright and Roddy had great road trip
Whats even better is that those 3 are young players that will continue to get better. Brand was great in the Laker game but was dominated by that young and aggressive Utah front court. Mayo had 2 very good 1st halves but dissapeared in both 2nd halves. I just think that there wont be many home losses for the Jazz this year with all that talent up front especially if Mo Wolliams and Foye keep hitting their shots...

Wright needs to rebound the ball better though.
Collison on the other hand was brilliant. Quick, unselfish and solid BBIQ.

I hold Rodddy a bit responsible for allowing Mo Williams to get started. You have to know that guy wants to shoot first and foremost. Get up in his space. Make him do otherwise.

There's not much going on in the forum... new threads aren't exactly a problem. In case you haven't noticed, this place is kinda dead.

Yes it's a shame how dead this place is.
The vBulletin board design is so much better than db.com scout crap, but the traffic here is really anemic to say the least...

Yeah it is. A lot of regulars have moved on and Twitter is now a good place to chat in-game.

I think a lot of people are slacking with Dirk out, as far as being a Mavericks fan is concerned. It's the nature of a contender, especially one with a guy like Dirk, that being a fan of the Mavericks is synonymous with being a fan of Dirk. So, when he is out, it's almost like Dallas isn't playing for many people (just my theory).
That being said, I think this forum is still relatively lively. It's the beginning of the season with a complete roster turnover and honestly there has been too much negativity by Dallas beat writers and ESPN goons regarding this team. People expect us to be some scrub fringe Western conference team. And though people want that not to be the case, they aren't willing to endure the early bumps of this growing team especially without their superstar.

Twitter has pretty much killed the board. Apparently a lot of posters just don't want to post anymore about a topic. And heaven forbid someone posts a topic, someone else tells them to quit posting needless topics.
I am glad that Carlisle is all in on the young guys.

What's wrong with this thread? The state of Collison, Roddy, and Wright is definitely topic worthy. This thread could go on for a while depending on the status of of their development.
Roddy not looking like total ass is surprising and good so far. He is making his shots and not turning the ball over. Two good steps in the right direction.

The bloom is off of cubans rose at the moment. Too many folks see the team at best getting their ass handed to them in the first round with another batch of folks who will be turned over for the next batch of folks.
Not an all-star or near all-star among them. Whereas Oklahoma just turned their "near-max guy" into "The Thunder acquired guards Kevin Martin and Jeremy Lamb, two first-round picks and a second-round pick in the surprising deal that was completed Saturday night."
We turned chandler, jet, jkiddo, jjb into dust. Ridiculous really.

First of all, how is this relevant to this thread? Second of all, why do you insist on bringing it up in every thread?
This Mavs team might not be able to make any noise in the playoffs or even make the playoffs, although there's no way of knowing that until the team is at full strength, but they're still really fun to watch and it's nice to see the young players playing well.
Also none of the former Mavs you listed have anywhere near the trade value of Harden. If anything the Thunder got robbed in that trade but that's not relevant to this thread either.

It goes to the lack of interest directly talked to in this thread.
And the reason I brought it up is a scenario where our competition got rid of their free agent for something besides dust.
And if you don't like it, tough.
Your right, no one had the value of harden so let 'em walk.

this is cute, Harden is a superstar. Jet is a role player at this point, JJB and Kidd aren't much. Tyson was a big loss for sure.

I'm sure bringing up the same old topic will spark some new, interesting discussion on this site.

Are you using Twitter? If so, let us plug in!
I think there is still a very real place for this forum, but I do think that Twitter is going to more or less subsume the GDT's. It's a place to be when things are happening in real time.

Can't hurt, it's not like anything new has worked. Like your above most interesting post.

At this point in his career Kidd is worse than Roddy, hell he isn't any better than the Knicks 35 year old rookie. JJB is a solid backup point guard but he isn't worth the money. Butler was way overpaid for and has been terrible for the Clippers. Deshawn has been just terrible since the title run. Jet was basically traded off for Mayo, while Mayo certainly worse right now he is younger with more upside than Jet has at this stage in his career.
