Well said. At least Mayo made it happen after the time out.
Not sure what Vince is thinking putting up two terribly contested shorts. I swear, sometimes he doesn't know when to pull out.
That's what she said.

FTW! Wright no defense?! Piss off people! Don't let Carlisle fool you into believing that shit.
Kaman/Brand and Wright should start. End of story.

Pretty big win for the Mavs tonight, really needed that one. 9-10 now and I agree with everyone it's clear Wright deserves playing time he should have never been benched for Murphy no matter our rebounding problems. Hopefully Kaman is ok as well.

And games like tonight remind me of why I can't take Rick Carlislie seriously. I won't be surprised if he gives Wright a DNP-CD on Saturday vs the Rockets.

Have been a great Wright supporter in some other GDT, but as good as Wright was offensively last night, he sucked twice as much on defense. Worst in +/- and his superb PER of 33.85 drops to ~16 when adjusting for defense and def-adjusted WS/WP48 also indicating that he was hurting the team.

Wright absolutely did not suck defensively last night. Even with that being said, my argument has always been that he at least brings some positives. We've been playing people who bring none over him. Also no disrespect to jae crowded but since we are seeing the hot 3pt shooting was a fluke, there's no reason to play him over wright either. Wright is at worst the 3rd best forward on this team behind Marion and vince, both of whom are better at the 3.
Am i the only one who heard Reggie talking about wright needing consistency and thought "it's hard to be consistent on the bench??? I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary for him last night and Reggie kept talking about it being a career game.

(the following from NBA.com)
THE STAT: The Mavs' Collison, Kaman and Wright combined to score 47 points off the bench on just 30 shots from the floor.
TURNING POINT: The Mavericks whipped the sluggish Suns, 23-4, to start the second half and take a 63-48 lead. During the nearly nine-minute span, Kaman lit up Marcin Gortat while -- at the other end -- the Suns' Michael Beasley missed shots. The Suns managed to tie the game late, but never again led.
HOT: Wright shot 8-for-12.
NOT: Gortat shot 1-for-8. He drew boos when he failed to convert what appeared to be an easy lob-and-layup attempt.
UP NEXT: For the Mavericks, Saturday @ Houston, Monday vs. Sacramento and Wednesday @ Boston.

In games in which he's played at least 20 minutes, wright is avg 12, 5.3, 1, 1.6, .9 with 1.1 tos on 68% shooting In 24 minutes a game.
If you prorate that out to 36 minutes, that's 18,8,1.5,2.4,1.3 with 1.5 tos. Obviously you can't just prorate it out like that but that's crazy
Edit and we are 5-2 in those games.

You can't deny that Wright was clutch.
In the 4th - 8pts (4-5shooting) , 4reb, 3 poke-aways, a block, a crucial put-back and a crucial steal that lead to a clear-path foul (2FT and possession).

Ugh, Kaman with a sprained ankle? Shame because he has been quite solid so far minus iffy defense. Of course, the whole team plays iffy defense.
Decent win. Gosh Mayo is streaky, but when they're falling he is nearly unstoppable

Is it possible that carlisles great coaching the last couple of years was really Jason Kidd being a coach on the floor? Or at least part of it? Because if you watch this team they look poorly coached and if you watch the Knicks, they look a lot like the old mavs.
I'm not saying that's the case, I don't even think it is. I think Carlisle has been bad this year but it doesn't take away what he's done in the past or what he could do in the future but it is an interesting thought.

Tyson Chandler helps out a LOT. Defense helps out a lot.
Also, hitting 18 3's helps... a lot.

Hard not to feel a bit jealous when you see Jason Kidd on the Knicks. I really thought Collison would be an upgrade but I dunno. Certainly not an upgrade in the "running the team" department. But hey, we won so I'll take it. And Collision played decently well. Good things happen when he attacks the basket.

I'm not talking about hitting the threes just the offense in general. Carlisles a great defensive coach without question

He always runs it better with wright because wright is a much much better pick and roll big than brand or kaman. He's a ridiculous athlete and obviously our best finisher but he's also never further than a dribble or two from the rim due to his length and he's actually polished enough to dribble without losing the ball

Yes.
Guys like Dirk, Kidd, Marion, Manu, Duncan... make it easy. Rick is a great coach, but he probably needs time to adjust to a low BBIQ team.
At the end of the day NBA is about players. Coaching is overrated. Mike Brown, Spolestra, Rick, Pop, Jackson, Avery...you name it.

Four of those free throws were intentional fouls at the end, and two were on a clear path path foul created by a Wright steal, but I did think DC looked as good as I've seen him look in a while in the second half. His half-court aggression and energy were much improved from the clumsy and passive play that's unfortunately become the norm for him. Not sure any of it really shows up on the box-score, but it did catch my eye.

Collisnon "improves" vs bad teams and "regresses" vs. good teams.
...do not hold your breath.
