So, with those 4 guys out, Mayo, Carter and Kaman decided to play like ass?
Great!

I like Sarge. Guy plays hard, defends well and gets some decent production.

I like Sarge too. Great motor. Needs to develop more confidence in the open 10 ft. jumper.
He isn't bad putting it on the floor and going to the hoop off the fake but it'll be more effective when he can hit the 10-15 footer semi-consistently. If he could pair his inherent quickness advantage and motor with a decent jumper he could be a handful on the offensive end.
Also would like to see Crowder get more lift on his jumper. He's too short to shoot a set shot and it's coming out somewhat flat.

These games where top teams focus their defense around Mayo and he struggles really indicate that he isn't a superstar. Once Dirk's back, his life will be a lot easier I think. He make's a better Robin

Teams pressuring him like he is a superstar = he isn't a superstar? ._.
I don't think he's a superstar either but I'm pretty sure he hasn't faced this sort of pressure in his NBA career. I mean I doubt LeBron freaking James has ever matched up on him. He's still learning how to deal with it.

Breaking: We can't hang with the best in the league right now with these kind of injuries.
Would have hoped for a more friendly result though as Miami hasn't exactly been blowing teams out on the road.

At the end just 15, but it was 30 at the of the third quarter. All of that was expected with the missed the Mavs had... Dirk, Fisher, Brand, Wright!

Pretty sure the mavs still lose regardless of any injuries including Dirk. The mavs dumped all their talent for two straight years. Not surprised one bit at the result. Apparently neither is anyone else as the mavs fan base has dwindled down dramatically as evidenced by this game day thread against the defending champs.

If this season goes in the dumps, then it is because of someone's knee...not because of a roster turnover. I guarantee this season would be drastically different had Dirk played in all of these games. And I have ten plus years worth of evidence to back that statement up. Just bad luck is all.

the teams the mavs won against have a combined record of 119-190 (.385 percentage).
they are 2-10 against teams above .500.
they are 4-10 on the road including losses in toronto (8-19) and charlotte (7-18).
they've been blown out of the gym 7 times already.
they are allowing 101.8 points per game (rank 27 in the nba).
i think this team is worse than the record of 12-14 shows. the mavs had a very easy
schedule so far, it will only get tougher. dirk will help offensively for sure, but offense is not our problem right now.

Vince Carter is going to set a NBA record for allowing the most 3 in a season. He is a terrible sagger and is so slow off the first step he has to give 5 feet in case the guy floors the ball. It's not as difficult as he makes it look. He isn't gonna block shots as a help defender, so stay out on the shooter.

He just has too many limitations these days and tries to do too much. He also has never seen a three pointer that he won't take. I like him and his attitude, but his role needs to be reduced. Unfortunately, the team needs contributions from anywhere it can get it.

Carter has been poor the last few games but like i said, his leadership and role is good. He tries to help, just needs to calm down. But he is one of the guys that can score and have to.

Carter should be like Stackhouse. A 18min spot up shooter.
This team is a total mess right now. Too many holes. I really do not know how we want to reach the playoffs. It is almost impossible. GSW, MIN, DEN and co. are too good this year.
And i will repeat it over and over again. Crowder is fool's gold. His FG% is a freaking joke
http://espn.go.com/nba/player/stats/...81/jae-crowder
and his role on offense way too big. Confidence is OK, but this guy is jacking up shots like crazy. Gotta concentrate on defense and rebounding.

It's a shame a big body dude (Crowder) with speed is so afraid of driving the ball and settles for jacking up 3's.

Crowder concentrates on the other aspects of his game. He's a rookie on a discombobulated team with no star YET.
You may have a point about us fitting into the playoff picture, but I'll have to see Dirk in action for a bit to fully agree that we can't get past at least a 8th seed playoff team.
Minnesota: I think as long as they stay healthy, we can forget about them. They are about to take off, that's a well built team right there.

Do you watch games at all? 30% of his possessions he drives and he shoots 20% of his shots are in the paint. Afraid to drive? More like he's a combo-forward with limited ball handling that plays within himself and has been tasked with spreading the floor.

I just go with the eyeball test. I don't need a bunch of stats as I know basketball unlike most stat geeks. There have been numerous times he's had the chance to drive and he jacks up a 3. At least he could give a ball fake and get closer. Very few guys can make a living off of jacking up 3's and the ones that do have a much better shot than Crowder does. He shouldn't take as half as many as he does. If he has been tasked with being the floor spreader than that is a bad coaching decision IMO.

A guy with limited ball handling skills ball fake and then take an off-balance jumper worth 2pts or take a set three? I mean--well, nevermind.

His 3 shot is broke. Either learn to handle the ball, finish around the rim, or get a nutty amount of rebounds or get out. It's the NBA not the D league.
