Mike James is our go to guy. That says it all.
But Morrow in, put roddy in or whoever else not James.

so many shitty calls. Nash fouled three times, AND he steps on the baseline. Refs are creative

Going to Dirk so rarely when he is on fire feels like poor coaching.
Collison is NO point guard.

Collison has played better lately, but he and OJ just don't look like our back court of the future. Making the playoffs is just such a tall order...

Yeah. When they shoot the lights out with the calls on their side, there is nothing you can do.

Too many missed free throws, too much OJ on the floor, horrible calls of techs by refs in 4th quarter. Bad loss.

What is so hard about getting the ball to dirk. Even if we got a big center like howard or gortat, we dont have the IQ in the pgs to get the ball to em.

I doubt that. The team wouldn't have been blown out as many times as they were but this is and never was a playoff team.

There is so much money to be made if the Lakers make the playoffs. It's not even funny. Stern needs the Lakers to make the playoffs. I'm not saying that the reffing was rigged, but there has to be pressure for them to support the Laker hype machine.

A healthy Dirk has this team fighting for the 7th seed.
Not a playoff team? Please.

Agreed.
I hate to speculate what we'd look like just having Kidd still here. So many close games this season that may or may not have been blown. I like players on the knicks but i secretly hoped they get bounced in the first round.

And some bonuses from Stern.
But let it be.

I agree here. It plays a certain role for sure, but hm, what´s the difference in $ ? 70,80 perhaps.

Also:
- 25.00 PointsInThePaint_P100 by LAL is the 2nd fewest for them this season
- The average distance of 12.86 feet per two-point shot by LAL is the 15th most (98th percentile) for any team this season
- 60.14 TS_PRC by LAL is the 3rd most for them on the road this season
- 17.02 PTSiT_P100 by DAL is the 3rd fewest for them at home this season
They made a bunch of long jumpshots against us and when that happens there is not much you can do about it. We failed to go out as much in transition as we used to.

Plus, the Lakers have made the NBA look bad this season. The running joke of them being terrible with Dwight/Nash/Kobe has been nothing but bad pr since the league/media butt humps that team to no end.

At what point does it become apparent that most of carlisles strength as a coach was really Kidd being a coach on the floor? I mean honestly I thought of him as a great coach but Kidd, dirk and Marion are 3 of the 5/10 highest bball iq guys in the league. I didn't watch enough of his pacer/piston teams to comment but he has looked awful this year.
And mike James is effing terrible

Marion makes the sickest cuts. There is a reason he is almost 35 & playing at a high level. Only high bball IQ guys make it in the NBA that long.

Agree that Marion's a high IQ player. As are Dirk and (it goes without saying) Kidd. I think the same can be said of JET and Vince. Just as germane to the discussion about Rick's coaching ability, though, is the fact that the Mavs' current starting backcourt features two guys whose bball IQs are at best works in progress. I don't think Rick deserves blame for that anymore than he deserves credit for Kidd being a savant.
I will conjecture, however, that he might deserve some credit for both Darren and OJ having arguably the best seasons of their careers.
