If Cuban doesn't come out of the dwightmare smelling like a rose with Dwight or an awesome plan B in place, his plan is officially a failure. 2, possibly 3 years of Dirk's career wasted.
I hope he's man enough to admit it and move on.

I disagree. Assuming the report is accurate, every team other than the Lakers would have additional moves to make in order to clear the necessary room to sign him and/or fill out the team around him. And even with LA there's always the attention whore angle.
Regardless, if he has actually made his decision, hopefully all the interested parties have been informed so they can get busy doing what they need to do. It's one thing to play in the spotlight. It'd be another thing to selfishly hold up the business of 4 teams you're not going to have any ongoing association with.
Edit: wait, so now that twitter tweet has been wetwacted?

No Deron. No Paul. No Howard. No Chandler......
This makes Jerry Jones look like a genius, and that's damn hard to do.

Not looking good, but still too early for doom and gloom. Mavs about to make a 2011 style late game push!

Admit it to who? Bc he would be an absolute fool to admit failure to his fanbase.
Those of us represented here are the tiny minority who seek to informed...the vast majority of Mavs "fans" really just want to drink their beer, high five their bro, and cheer for Dirk and the home team.
About the most I expect to hear from Cubes and Donnie would be something like, "We went in to this knowing it was ALWAYS a crapshoot...and the dice just didn't roll our way." Or some such.

At the end of the day it is what it is, if we don't get Dwight hopefully we go get Bynum and Ellis or Calderon, try and field a competitive team and set up for next year.

Prediction: Dwight waiting for Golden State to free up cap space, but pre-types "WARRIERS!" just because. He pushes the post button by mistake, GS doesn't free up any cap space. Dwight signs to Golden State for the MLE. Everybody wins!

Man, winning this freeagency sweepstakes is almost in a way bigger than winning the championship. A champion gets crowned every year, but the Lebrons and Dwights of the world are only available in freeagency once every few years -- if even that. Moreover, you win the Lebron sweepstakes like the Heat, and you end up winning multiple championships. I say we plan a parade if Dwight signs with the Mavs.

Sam Amick's latest article heavily implies that both Dallas and Atlanta are out. Then again, it really seems like nobody knows anything:
http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports...akers/2492629/
(BTW, Dwight to the Mavs.)

I'm glad I was out of town for the 4th so I could actually enjoy it. I knew that a decision wouldn't have been made yet when I got back (which was an hour ago).
I could understand if this was Michael Jordan, but is Dwight really worth all this drama? I'm really warming up to the idea of Bynum.

Well, he says a bit more than that. He says a GS source was told the Rockets are the favorites, but also that GS is in his top three. There's always the possibility of calculated, strategic leaks, but there's obviously more going on than what we're privy to.

I have no idea what's going to happen, so I'm not sure how I can flip flop. I'm posting news articles and occasionally partaking in cheeky fun.

Never really thought we could afford Iggy if we wanted Dwight or Bynum anyway. Warriors looking very good now though.

And we've also heard plenty over the last 24 hours about how the Lakers think he's was probably out the door even before they had that final meeting with him (per Stein, if memory serves). Even if the report about GS and Hou being in the top 3 is accurate, I haven't seen much of anything that points to LA being #3.
As for there being more going on than what we're privy to, I don't doubt that at all. I just happen to think that the same can be said of Amick and any other reporter. As you said, nobody outside of the principals really knows anything.
My guess is that after the meetings Dwight's reps probably told all the teams involved something to the effect of: "We'd like to make a decision by the end of the week. Go out and see what you can line up between now and then, keep us appraised, and we'll make our decision based on the guarantees you can make us about the team Dwight will be going to at that time."
And now I see GS is getting Iggy. Hmm...

With Iguodala in Golden State, the Dwight Howard sweepstakes are now down to two. Rockets & Lakers.
Mavs are not even mentioned in a single tweet from anyone.
Lets call it a day and get a Plan B FAST!

I'm as pessimistic as the next guy, but all of these tweets are complete BS. Every single reporter but Woj, Stein, and the main guys should NOT BE TRUSTED.
