GDT: Mavericks vs. Hawks (Preseason) October 23, 7:30 pm CST
Earlier in the week Carlisle said he was going to treat the rest of the preseason much like a regular season game. Assuming our starting 5 are in tact for the night what do you want to see?
Personally I would like to see more of the Monta, Dirk pick and pop or pick and roll with Calderon spreading the court ready to hit an open three. I also would like to see Calderon and Dirk play better together today as I did not see the chemistry I would have liked in the Rockets game. Dalembert needs to have a defensive presence against Al Horford, and we already know what we are getting from Marion and Carter.

I'd like to see the same things with Dirk, Monta and Calderon. I don't think it's fair to judge Calderon just yet tho as far as distribution. Give him a few games or so. I'd like to see Carter stay out on his man defensively. He sags in too much and doesn't get out to really challenge shots. I want to see Monta and Dirk get a little more aggressive and produce more. Most importantly, I want to see a win. We gotta have it!

I want Monta to shoot at least 200% so nobody can bitch about his supposed preseason inefficiency.

Nice! And thanks for the GDT.
All the camp fodder was waived today (Kennedy, McConnell, Ebanks, Melo, and Balkman. We're back to the 15 that we'll have for the season so at the very least, we literally can't see an all-fodder fourth quarter anymore. Carlisle may still keep the starter minutes down and may play backups in the fourth, but at least it won't go from a pre-season game to a D-league game in the second half.
Really excited to see how the team comes together. They are still struggling to defend the three, but have shown some flashes of brilliance offensively and have been adequate defensively at times with decent defense, some steals and some blocks and haven't been awful on the boards.
I'll be watching if there is an online link of the game

Easy, he makes all his shots and also makes all Jae Crowder's shots.

A little unrelated but it reminds me of the great Kobe quote:

I wanna see Monta go off for 25+... Especially after his bad performance against Houston.

I really like what I've seen from Sammy thus far. He is big and pretty athletic.

Monta definitely sets Dirk up very well. It's refreshing after watching Collison and Mayo completely fail to do so last year.

Dirk don't ever pass up a wide open shot to give it to Mekel for a 3......

If Dirk stays healthy and the Mavs are in the playoff chase, I fully expect him to be a top 5-7 MVP candidate. He looks like he's moving around much better this preseason than he did at most times of the last two years.

But on that note if Mekel ever drops the hitch in his windup on his shot, he will be an effective outside shooter.

He really does look really good.. He's always been slow that hasn't changed but there running the offense through him so far and he's taking his one on one matchups like he always has. Really wanted him to hit that trailing three!!!

Someone in Dallas must be a Raptors fan. I just realized that 3 former Raptors are all on the floor for us at once with Calderon, Carter, and Marion. Are old Raptors fans tuning in to this game?

I'm not a fan of Marion making decisions with the ball.

Please don't retire Marion. I love his hustle so much. He has some more years in him. I know it.
I was disappointed when KVH retired, and he had far less left in him than Marion.

I haven't read/heard one word about Marion retiring. Or are you saying that you NEVER want him to retire?

Quit teasing us by showing Harris sitting in his suit. I dropped by his old house this last week. I was making a delivery to someone who lived two houses down from where he used to live. I wish he and his bro still lived there. I would have loved to knock on his door and say hello to him. haha

After that rebound marion has got to pass it up to Monta and give him some numbers.. not sure why he dribbled it all the way down and tried to drive and dump it to dalembert

Once you get the rebound and think you can get down the court fast you want to create your own play. You get a bit selfish I think. I know I do.
