I honestly think Phil's public "be a team player and take a paycut" comments are meant to drive Melo out of town.

Well, Jackson was hired to turn the team around - getting rid of Melo is a step in the right direction.

Secretly Recorded Conversations & Unnamed Sources
What's the difference between someone secretly recording a phone conversation and releasing it to the press, and someone revealing the content of a private conversation(s) to the press, either anonymously or 'not for attribution'? Is one worse than the other?
According to unnamed sources, the assistant coach whom the Warriors terminated a few weeks ago, Darren Erman, was fired for secretly recording conversations between himself and other assistant coaches, as well as private conversations between other coaches. Erman reportedly believed that other assistant coaches were making insulting and disparaging remarks about him to one another, to head coach Mark Jackson, and to the players. There is also some concern on the part of Jackson's increasingly paranoid coaching staff that Erman may have been making contents of the conversations known to Warriors' management and ownership. Erman has since landed a job with the Celtics as Director of Pro Scouting. Everyone in the Celtics organization is advised to play music in the background and whisper during private conversations. And remember: Don't say with a nod what can be said with a wink.
For those keeping score anonymously at home, Erman is the second member of Jackson's coaching staff to be released in recent months after reportedly having a strained relationship with Jackson and his other assistant coaches. Brian Scalabrine was reassigned to the Warriors D-league affiliate after having what Mark Jackson characterized as "philosophical differences" with Jackson. Nameless Cowards have revealed that Scalabrine showed a pattern of disrespect toward Jackson and the other coaches, mainly by refusing to speak to them, though to be fair, in light of Erman's proclivity for secretly recording the conversations of his colleagues, Scalabrine appears to be both justified, smart, and lucky as hell to be out of that situation. Scalabrine also went so far as to sit in a separate section of the team plane during flights, away from the backstabbing brownnosers on Jackson's staff.
Jackson also recently categorically denied that he had limited GSW advisor (and former NBA Legend and Logo) Jerry West from access to team practices and meetings. Unnamed Sources were skeptical at Jackson's denial, despite unconfirmed and unverifiable reports that West had been at some recent team functions.
Mark Jackson moved another game closer to the end of his Warriors tenure with Tuesday night's loss to the Clippers in LA, which gave the Clippers a 3-2 series lead. Unnamed Sources report that Jackson, in the wake of Donald Sterling's recently revealed musings on race and other topics, had sought to take advantage of the chaos and disarray surrounding the Clippers franchise by encouraging LA fans to stay at home for Tuesday night's game. Anonymous Observers indicated that Jackson appeared to be employing a "When You're Skating On Thin Ice, You Might As Well Dance" strategy.
The former pole dancer with whom Mark Jackson carried on his own extra-traditional-marital affair, and who according to Well-Placed Law Enforcement Sources allegedly attempted to blackmail Jackson with compromising (i.e. 'nekkid') photos, remained unavailable for comment at the time of this posting.

If I were him I would have picked GS over NY, too.
