I'm not surprised you think I'm "wrong," as your posts were the most reactionary and silly in the whole thread, and this latest post is little different.

Pop does the same thing from time to time. Maybe he didn't want to say "I benched him because he can't shoot" when the Mavs are trying to work up his shooting confidence. It's only a problem if the coach makes it a habit of making odd decisions and then refusing to answer questions. An occasional thing really shouldn't be cause for huge concern.

Folks, the Rondo thing is not a big deal. The Mavs were down 6-8 points late and needed to spread out a pretty tough Chicago defense to have any chance of coming back (which they almost did). Harris is a better shooter than Rondo, and while Rondo's a better defender, Harris isn't a huge defensive liability. It's a pretty sensible thing to do. If the Mavs come up with that last rebound and score, nobody's saying anything about it.

Recently acquired All star PG sitting out last 5 minutes of a tight game is worth talking about. Seemed to get a good reaction out of the quoteboard too. Im not going to go overboard and say this will have implications down the road, but it is worth talking about. Of course if the Mavs had won, we'd be talking about it the other way around and Carlisle is a genius. Im guilty of that at times too.

I agree it's worth talking about. Absolutely.

Agreeing on what is and what isn't worth talking about is just a coach's decision.

Initiate Overreaction Hyperdrive:
I don't want to see Carlisle "handle" Rondo in the same micromanaging fashion he "handled" Darren Collison and basically blew that kid's confidence through the basement. (Rondo wouldn't deflate like Collison, but he might very well slip into "bad Rondo".)
Over Reaction hyperdrive now disengaged.

I don't think the Rondo thing at end of game was a big deal.
My concern with rebounding isn't just with getting clobbered on the boards but more about the minutes Chandler will need to be on the floor to compensate for everyone else.
It seems this team is completely focused on running so players are relying on Chandler and Dirk to get rebounds while the other three are transitioning to offense while the shot is up. Seems this team needs to start focusing on securing rebounds first as a team and then start the offense even if they compromise fast break opportunities in the process.

We need a backup rebounding center.
