2015 Offseason Thread (trades, free agency, etc)
We saw Ersan Ilyasova traded from Milwaukee to Detroit last week, for Caron Butler and Shawne Williams.
Tonight Doc Rivers uncorked this gem:

Well they needed a playmaker to take the ball out of the hands of the greatest turnover machine in the history of playoff basketball James Harden. Plus he now has an excellent driver for his nights to the strip club. I wonder what kind of protections the pick has because they really gave up nothing from those scrub players listed.

I'm curious what the pick protection is too. They didn't give up anyone that was in their playoff rotation.

They also have open roster spots now. Meaning Alan Williams is likely going to stick around after his nice Summer League. Along with Jet staying on for another year.

Great trade if we can get Lawson to sober up. Now it puts Beverley back on the bench and with the addition of Marcus Thornton we should have scoring punch off the bench.
I also like the turnover/assist ratio he brings to the table which will mean extra possessions for us with less turnovers. I now believe we are right up there with everyone else again especially getting Beverley and DMO back in the rotation.
Of course health is top priority.....

This was a great deal for the Rockets if Lawson keeps his shit together.
Clearly can tell that Denver went into Full Tank Mode. They are going after Ben Simmons.
Laughable how freakin strong the West is and still becomes stronger. Meanwhile Lebron has a cakewalk to another NBA Final.

Also another stipulation to the trade in favor of the Rockets. In Morey We Trust!
https://twitter.com/ZachLowe_NBA
Lawson also agreed to make the 2nd year of his contract to be a team option thus making it non-guaranteed.
Could be good for him though if it doesn't work and get a new contract with the new CBA money.

Steph Curry will be the 6th highest plaid player on his team as it currently stands. That's pretty incredible for the reigning season MVP and NBA champion.
Draymond Green
Klay Thompson
David Lee
Andrew Bogut
Andre Iguodala
Steph Curry
The Warriors have vaulted into the #1 payroll according to HoopsHype.

Yeah. Hoopshype a little slow with a lot of the moves made during the last month.
They have Mavs' payroll at $41 million.

Bruh why all the hate? I know this isn't clutchfans and that is why I didn't post in the General Mavs Discussion thread.... I posted in the Around the NBA forum thread.....
Don't really think he will be Odoming his career aways since he is a way better player than Odom ever was.

Pretty sure I get really "trolled" on this but from my understanding you are supposed to love your neighbors even as you love yourself and......you are supposed to love your enemies as well. That is the true old rule in humanity....Not sure what book you are reading from.....

@ESPNSteinLine: ESPN sources say San Antonio is indeed finalizing a deal to sign Jimmer Fredette
@ESPNSteinLine: Spurs are always on the lookout for shooters and want to give Fredette his shot in the San Antonio system

@ESPNSteinLine: Pablo Prigioni is headed to the Clippers now that he's cleared waivers, according to @ShamsCharania of @RealGM
@ESPNSteinLine: Pablo Prigioni signing will take Clips more than $13 mil past luxury tax threshold and nudge their tax bill, as it stands, to nearly $24 mil

She's already a top 10 coach as soon as she coaches a NBA team according to any media outlet I'm sure. Everyone associated with the Spurs gets massively overrated. Spurs sign Jimmer and instantly it's seen as oh- they will make something of him. Meanwhile Mavs sign Jenkins and it's "lol, training camp fodder". We sign Sammy D, oh he's done they are desperate. I'd put $$ on if the Spurs had signed Sam then it would be, oh this is so underrated he's going to give their already deep FC even more depth and now they can rest players more and oh it's for the minimum what a steal!!!! blah blah *fap fest*.
The hard on for the spurs makes me vomit.

Tristan Thompson accepting a qualifying offer and likely won't return to the Cavs after next season.
A name to keep an eye on for trade or next offseason.

I don't know the validity of the claim that he won't come back-- could be overstated, but it does make him a UFA
Then again, dude thinks he's a 10-max player. After Aminu got 8, TT could be asking for a lot more, particularly with the higher cap.
Don't personally think he'll be worth the big bucks unless he shows me something more this season
22nd among centers in rebounding rate
34th among centers (tied with Zaza) in PER
20th among centers in Value Added
Dude is a merely average starting center, but one of the best backups around. At 6'9" he could be a nice PF, though.

Are those just regular season stats because he made his worth in the playoffs.

regular. There were only 24 centers who competed in the playoffs
Thompson was:
16th of 24 in PER
15th of 24 in rebound rate
6th of 24 in value added

I mean, I know the eye test is subjective, but TT was absolutely instrumental in Cleveland's run. He pulled down rebounds with serious ferocity and was extremely efficient offensively. He didn't back down from anyone. He just seems like a guy that would work will under Carlisle for the right price.

There's no reason to talk about getting TT right now. Lets see how he does in upcoming season although he'll probably be traded for a pick although TT can't be traded without his consent.
This much is clear that he wants close to max money but it is yet to be determined if he can outplay Kevin Love or not. But also is clear that he's leaving Cavs.
