Wes definitely fouled him. Got him across the arm when he jumped.

Anybody know our record vs +.500 teams compared to our record against sub .500 teams?
I'm too lazy to figure it out but all I know is at some point we need to start beating PO caliber teams.
Its beginning to look like we will continue to be stuck in that mediocrity rut again this season.

Agree...that was a definite foul but I thought there was traveling before the foul.

Should've won that one. Powell with a couple of flubs and allowed the Horford back door. Not sure why RC had him in there. Can't do offense defense substitutions with no Timeouts and esp not when it's your best player sitting. That steal by Milsapp from Dirk was a killer too.
Parsons was invisible out there. I think we let him walk if he doesn't opt in, unless he takes a major paycut. Can't afford to give post injury Guggliota 15+ of our cap space. Speaking of JJB looks like a good stretch waive candidate.
Dirk looked gassed after 3 games in 4 nights. Dirk hits a shot or two or Powell's oop or tips go in maybe we win. Too bad this game was there for the taking. At least they have some rest days coming up to practice and re-group.

Parsons again sucks. So tired of him.
Winnable game. Before it started I thought it'd be worse. Top bad we can't put away for above 500 teams. Regardless I still see a 7 seed in our future.

Ahh, I don't know how anyone can defend Parsons' inept performance.
His jumpshot is way too ugly and he lacks the hustle to make up for it. Just can not warm to the guy. Hoping this is his last year in a Dallas jersey.
Everyone else I'm fine with. Barea hasn't had much spark this year but he did perform well in the play offs last year so not going to berate him yet.

Man, I´ve never seen a team creating so many great, wide open looks and yet missing 4 out of 5 from downtown... To me the question of the season is: Will that improve and if so, when will it improve.
Such a bad loss. We should have won that one easily.

sucked that they had almost 20 more FGA than we did - tough to win doing allowing that.

I don't think the guy has been given a fair shake. He's frustrated by the combination of limited minutes and rehabbing the injury.
Not defending him but just think it's too soon to judge.
I'd like to see how he does after given the green light to go all out and be a core part of this team. Right now it seems more mental than physical to me.
Plus we'll need him toward the end of the season to help carry the load.

I'll start worrying in February when everyone is fully healthy and we've had a good 30-40 games together. Until then we are going to have a ton of inconsistency.
Matthews and Parsons still aren't 100% healthy
Our starters basically missed all of camp and pre-season
We're still getting our rotations down and learning to play together

There was one point where Harris passed the ball to Barea at the top of the three point line and then Barea awkwardly tossed it right back to Harris. I sometimes wonder how much these guys want to actually win the game. If they aren't healthy, then they shouldn't be on the court.

Unfortunately it's possible, likely(?), each has lost another half step.
JJB peaked in 2011. Devin a couple years before that. They will probably improve shooting % and play better than we have seen so far but it isn't a given. Devin doesn't look confident or locked in. Schroeder abused him last night and he's had off the ball lapses all year.
I don't think either has much trade value, Harris maybe some, with those contracts. Both should be stretch waive candidates this summer if the extra 7mil or so is the difference between signing a prime FA or not. Glad we have Jenkins on a cheap deal. He should get some of those minutes by next season.

I still think Harris' and Barea's problems are Felton and Williams.
Felton has elevated his game to become a core, and at times goto, player which has singlehandedly diminished Harris' and Barea's roles and even Parsons' to some degree.
DWill is playing above expectations.
Barea, Harris and Parsons all seem lost in terms of understanding roles.
This is a good thing...Parsons needs to get more involved and the other two just need to find a new niche on this team.

Yup, and I wouldn't be surprised to see one of those guys shipped before the trade deadline because of it... We knew D-Will and Wes were going to dominate the guard positions, but Felton has been gobbling up the rest of the minutes at about the same rate that he was gobbling up cheeseburgers a couple seasons ago.

LOL
I'm beginning to wonder about the closing lineup as the season progresses and the rotation tightens.
Felton could very easily fill the JET and Carter 6th man role but it will be interesting to see if he becomes part of the closing lineup over Parsons or someone else.
RC seems to be falling in love with Felton and understandably so.

Yeah felton can get his own shot- invaluable in the 4th when the defense tightens up. He has the tear drop and a pretty reliable pull up or step back jumper from 15-18ft. And he plays with confidence. Unlike Parons or Harris thus far. He can't really create like JJB sometimes does but he's a better defender and more efficient scorer.
Part of me would be sad to see Devin or JJ go as they are both on their second go round and part of our Mavs family. Devin hasn't seemed to be having much fun out there.
I think we'll stand pat and wait for buyouts. In the meantime I'd rather see more Evans and /or Jenkins

Its funny how the Mavs were shooting so good from the 3point line against the Knicks, but sucked from the 3 point line against the Hawks. I am surprised how Raymond Felton has been playing. I really didn't see him getting alot of minutes playing this season, but due to Parsons restricted minutes, Felton is even starting for Dallas. He just looks more aggressive with his scoring attempts. Chandler Parsons overall hasn't looked good, his shot is not hitting, and he needs to be more aggressive on defense. Wesley Matthews on offense a couple of weeks ago wasn't doing anything. But for the past 5 games, his points and percentage has improved. His defense has been great for most part. Especially when he abused Chris Paul in the 2nd game against the Clippers. Deron Williams has been playing REALLY good so far, so has Dirk. Dallas has been good so far, they need to beat some of the top teams in the league for people to really take them serious.

I think Donnie and Mark should be patient and keep this group together. Then go after a starter quality center like Noah in the off season and resign the current core players including Felton.
2016 Roster
DWill/Felton/Barea
Mathews/Jenkins/Harris
Parsons/Anderson/Evans
Dirk/Powell/CV
Noah/Zaza/McGee
The combination of one year of building chemistry, health (Parsons, Matthews, McGee), youth development (Powell, Jenkins and Anderson) and addition of defensive center (Noah) should make us a serious contender next season.

I feel pretty confident that the mavs can win the next 3 games but Memphis is going to murder us if we can't figure a way to penetrate gasol. We need more winning streaks. this win 1 lose 1 is not a sign of a strong playoff team.

There are a lot of moving parts so its hard to say exactly how much $ we'll have this offseason. Definitely want Zaza, Dirk, Dwill and Powell back. Felton perhaps. Parsons not sure yet. i think we are stuck with Parsons for better or worse.
We have Zaza, Dirk, Felton and Parsons Bird Rights. And Powell early bird?
If we have room for a max deal I think the order of preference is Durant, Whiteside, Horford, Dwight Howard. Any of the 3 bigs would pair nicely with Zaza and Durant is Durant. After those options are exhausted then start to look at Noah, Ezelli, Jeff Green. Presuming Conley not an option. Really the key to all of this is Parsons- his health, does he opt in, what salary is he looking for if he opts out, do we even want to keep him?

Assuming we sign everyone back a max FA is probably not possible. I'd also hate to see them chase another pipe dream while losing Zaza in the process. I'd like to see them go into training camp with the majority of the team being familiar faces and stop overhauling the roster every season.
Sure I'd love to have Durant over Parsons but Parsons at his salary might be a bargain next season and Durant is a long shot.
That's why I think we should keep the core together as much as possible this time and then aggressively pursue the most suitable 2nd tier FA.

Flagrant 2 for that, no doubt.
