What's up with Ricky and McGee.
McGee injured, screw up or Ricky playing head games?

Think maybe he didn't need him as much. Houston played pretty small.

That has got to be a tough decision. Match up small or make them guard bigs with smalls.
Unrelated but Dirk is a beast on the boards this year.

My concern is that the guys in their 20s are being rested while guys in their 30s are carrying the load. Dirk, Zaza and DWill will probably be burned out by PO time.
Parsons, Matthews and McGee better be fresh and productive by then.

Im definitely worried about Zaza. He's a monster now, but something has to be done to get him more rest during games.

I still think this season is all about building for next season.
I'd make one trade this season and then go after one decent FA in the off-season.
Trade at TDL:
Felton/Anderson for Aminu
2016 FA:
Noah
2016-2017 Roster:
DWill/Barea/Rookie
Matthews/Harris/Jenkins
Parsons/Aminu/Evans
Dirk/Powell/CV
Noah/Zaza/McGee

I agree. RC simply has to let Powell and McGee play through some mistakes and get Dirk and Zaza more rest.
Right now Deron is right about where he was the last two seasons minutes wise-32.9, up nearly two minutes per. Dwill minutes have trended upward with JJ out.

I've said it before, RC doesn't like to play unskilled knuckleheads and that's why I never got why there was so much excitement about McGee. RC prefers veterans.
Did you even see how bad picks McGee sets? He is literally setting picks against air. On-ball defender doesn't even have to run around the pick because McGee leaves space for him and the ball handler.
That being said, he was offensively ineffective because nobody passed the pall to him high. Numerous times McGee received ball to his chest rather than up high where he used to get his buckets. But man... Those picks...

Then I'd like to see Salah activated and McGee waived. Seems like a waste to keep him on the roster if he isn't going to play.

Fear not! I shall return.

Center JaVale McGee didn’t play in the past two games, but apparently it’s nothing to be alarmed about. ...
Coach Rick Carlisle said he decided not to play the eight-year veteran the past two games because of matchup issues. ...
“These games where they go small are not good games for him to be in,” Carlisle said. “New York was more his style of game with their big guys, and he played in the first half of that one.” ...
“I keep a line of communication with him,” Carlisle said. “I’ve talked to him consistently about these different kinds of circumstances.”

Rick's "other teams going small" is not a valid excuse for Mcgee's dnpcd. How Rick plays Powell ahead of McGee is a head scratcher. Sometimes his head games blow up in his face. I like having a shot blocker on the floor who has to be defended when he rolls to the basket.

Really? When's the last time McGee set a good pick? If he'd only learn to set a decent pick then perhaps I'd have nothing against him having more minutes than Powell.
There's no reason to set a pick if you aren't going to block on-ball defender. Yet McGee keeps doing it...
I'm pleased what I've seen from him so far. But I don't think he's as good at rebounding as Powell is. But man, his picks are like watching Parsons shoot the ball.
Oh, and by the way, I'm not buying the "small ball" excuse by RC. McGee has looked rather slow but he shouldn't be that slow. But it is good that Mavs have luxury to either play McGee or Powell.
