GDT: game 70. Blazers at Mavs 3pm
Mavs look to lick their wounds after losing 7 of 8. They're injured (Parsons, Williams, and Matthews all questionable), but they need to fight hard if they want to represent the West's lamb to the slaughter by squeaking into that 8th spot for the playoffs. A playoff birth would guarantee the pick they give away this summer is not a lottery one and may make us more attractive to free agents-- free agency being the only substantive way to improve this team.
Tune in to see what happens. It's a matinee game, on a Sunday, with a major injuries, but only 48 minutes of play (or 53, or 58) can determine the result. Cheer on your team.

I love matinees. I can get into the movie for less than a full price ticket.

Going to the game today...only my second of the season. Hope they don't make driving home a crappy drive.

In case Parsons is out it wouldn't surprise me RC sticking 4 guards out there with Dirk....

Deron
Barea
Felton
Wes
Dirk
Lee can give Dirk a quick breather so he only has to play 38 mins... Mejri/McGee and Simba will combine for 0 minutes... We lose in 4OT.

I kinda hope either Parsons or Matthews is out so that ANderson finally gets minutes. Matthews shouldn't be playing at all, but somehow is questionable.

Why just four guards?

Exactly what I was thinking. If Barea isn't getting some center minutes, then Rick must be on something.

Parsons out. Matthews and Williams will play.
Now even more reason to play a five-guard lineup

Make it 5OT, sounds more reasonable.

I'm thinking Williams, Felton, Matthews, Lee, Dirk.

@espn_macmahon: Rick Carlisle on rookie Justin Anderson, whose role likely increases significantly with Chandler Parsons out: "He's getting better all the time. He gives us energy, dynamic strength. He's a great runner. His shooting ability is good. Obviously right now, we need him and we need everybody."

@espn_macmahon: Zaza Pachulia will return to the Mavs' starting lineup with Chandler Parsons out due to a sore hamstring. Dirk Nowitzki will slide back to power forward.

Zaza better shows some balls today if he doesn't want to be in Rick's doghouse forever.

The Mavs four-headed guard rotation stops Curry-Wannabe-Lil'lard... Wes destroys his former team... Mavs beat the Tail-Breeze easily on a Sunday afternoon game....
Mavs - 117
Tail-Breeze - 110

Zaza reminds me so much of Dampier.... butter fingers. Pls move Dirk to C and get Lee in!

More excitement at a funeral than at this game minus when Dirk scores.

@espn_macmahon: Rick Carlisle, rather loudly in the huddle: "What the f--- are you doing?!" Pretty sure that was directed at Justin Anderson, who sits now.

That's good. Anderson has a real opportunity here to play more.

Carlisle sucks at coaching non vets. Anderson makes one mistake and Rick yells at him and benches him. Way to kill your rookie draft pick

I think if Mavs can just communicate better and make their own ball movement. It can work. Deron and Dirk need open shots.

Yeah Anderson blew his chance. Still shouldn't just be getting a chance this late in the season. Mavs just have a lack of talent problem.

@espn_macmahon: The only active Mavs yet to play today are Dwight Powell and JaVale McGee.
