That was an ugly, ugly, ugly win.
I'll take it.
Ok, Curry and Thompson better start delivering.

A win is a win, but I can't believe Mejri is back to DNP.
I guess the plus side is that Anderson looks like a steal compared to the rest of the draft.

Utah and Memphis lost tonight. The 5-8 seats are looking about close to shuffling around in standings that could happen at the last Reg season game. Mavs have their shot to push Memphis out of the way in the next couple games.

I got to give props to Wesley Matthews. His 1 year in Dallas is better than Parsons 2 years combined. At least his defense is getting better and looks like he will go back to being the Portland Matthews starting next season when healthy. Plus he'll make the playoffs and play his 1st season as a mav unlike Parsons.

Is Wes finally recovering from his achilles? I was mostly impressed with his defense. He's always known for it but honestly most of the season I didn't think it was up to par. There was a 5 min stretch in the 4th where he was in Monta have it all mode.

Matthews has played good defense but that's about it as far his first year in Dallas. His offensive numbers have plummeted across the board. I'm really hoping he gets 100% healthy this off season and works on his game. The guy has heart and wants to win, that much is clearly seen.

We are still 4 games behind Memphis. No way we catch them. Our best chance is to get 6th and not get swept by OKC.

Dirk: "It's a little odd. I was hot there for a second when we lost all of our games. And now I'm 9-for-50 and we're 2-0... I’m probably gonna get a call from Holger tomorrow."

It makes me a little sad, but the success of the team doesn't seem to correlate to the success of Dirk.

Well I mean when JJ is dropping 25 a game, it does lighten the load for the dirkster

Yeah, I think it says more about Dirk's teammates finally stepping up than it does about Dirk.

Not just talking about that game, but many this season. It seems like the team that Dirk is best on and the team that the roster is built for are two different teams. Dirk really requires a half-court set where he can slow it up and post it. The rest of the team is all about agility, speed, and pushing the tempo.

Wouldn't you say that is most of the NBA now? Definitely GSW and OKC. SAS even with a post up game is high intensity and up tempo from the few times I've watched them.

Agree....we seem much slower when Dirk is in the game and when the game slows our defense struggles.
A slower game is more conducive to Dirk's strengths though.
Also when Dirk is in the game others tend to defer to him and the ball movement is very slow.
However, we wouldn't even be close to .500 without Dirk.
