Thunder aren't going to win the championship. So Cuban was eating it up before their implosion happening latter into the playoffs. Which is brilliant since they play the spurs next. Westbrook isn't the superstar on his team. Him not winning it all this season will prove it.

Mavs fought hard, just couldn't hit anything at the end. No qualms with that showing...OKC just a better team, especially with all the Mavs injuries. If the whole series had gone that way, instead of just a couple games, I'd call it a success. But still glad it finished that way, rather than with one of the blowouts.

Mavs need more defense. That is the real thing that is missing from this team. Take out Matthews, and who else is a defensive stalwart?

But it doesnt help the franchise, especially in FA minds. Cuban is for the most part right, but that kind of stuff he should keep to himself. Not to mention taking attention away from his team and putting the focus on himself.

Honestly, I think that was the point... Cuban had no illusions of the Mavs winning last night, so he put the target on himself to keep people from talking trash about the team (or more specifically, Dirk)... He does that, nothing new.
Of course, that didn't stop KD and RW from talking shit about Villanueva, but I guess beating up retarded kids on the playground is how they cope with the fact that this OKC squad's window has pretty much closed.... F'em, I hope the Spurs sweep.
EDIT: just to clarify, the "retarded kids on the playground" comment has nothing to do with CV's alopecia and everything to do with him being the 12th player in our depth chart... Never punch down, it makes you look petty.

I didnt see it that way. Making a good point...I really dont know why they continue to harp on CV. But thats why Westbrook isnt a superstar. He's petty as hell and cant handle himself well (in the media).

@espn_macmahon: The NBA announced that Mavericks rookie Justin Anderson has been assessed a flagrant 2 foul upon review of a play with 27.2 seconds remaining in Game 5. Anderson elbowed Oklahoma City's Russell Westbrook in the mouth while they were fighting for a loose ball on the floor.

I say we get World Peace to close out the last 30 seconds of all our Thunder and Rockets games next season.

The NBA is so reactive its a joke. Flagrant 1 but not 2. Only because Durant was ejected with a 2.

Mejri has his own way of adding defense. JJ also is a pesky defender. We overlooked Deron's defense. He played decent too.

I love what Mejri brings but if Dirk and Parsons are playing a lot together we need an athletic beast in the middle. Dirk doesn't want Howard so we'll have to find another but in Rick's system all we really need is rim protection and rebounding. Mejri certainly gives us rim protection but I'd like to see more bulk and athleticism in the paint when Dirk and Parsons are playing. Maybe if Mejri adds some lower body strength in the off season he might be the guy.

Well for sure durant and westbrook never and wont ever sign here. Even I know there's no chance durant likes Dallas in general. Not to mention the added rivals like the lakers and spurs those two guys have now. Not just the Mavs. See honestly we all knew the series was 20-1 odds. But it seemed like Cuban threw in the towel pre game 5. Which oddly seemed like we exposed them enough for san antonio to finish that series.
Cubes was going on the shit talk they started first. Too bad we lacked rebounds. Sometimes the shit talk works, sometimes it doesn't. I mean it worked with shaq when calling them the "sacramento queens". Also when Terry did the classic move of putting the NBA trophy on his arm even before playoffs started. It's just the fun of NBA playoffs. I see the durant and westbrook imploding eventually... which convinces durant to leave.

Know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em. Sad to see JET reduced to a used car salesman guaranteeing sh*t that doesn't happen.

That only works when you have Dirk on your team.

Basically yes... but Jet stepped up pretty big in big moments during the finals.

Mejri would count if he played good 1 on 1 defense, had more buik, and rebounded better. You are somewhat making my point with the others. Yes, JJ is pesky, and Deron played decent defense...but are either of them defensive stalwarts, someone you can put out there to lock down on their guy and really disrupt his game? No. Mavs need another player who can (assuming Matthews fits that bill). Preferably someone who can guard 3's and 4's. Basically...someone like Shawn Marion. Parsons was supposed to be that guy, but not sure anyone other than Mavs brass ever saw it that way.
