He wont be coming back to the NBA.
Would need to pass a drug test and that wont happen anytime soon.
Can you blame him? He just suited up for a couple of NBA Games then cashed in on a monster contract and will be getting Millions the next years while smoking weed all day.
lol

He's not playing the rest of this season. He will not need a drug test to play again. He was suspended for 10-12 games, he was recently reinstated for 2 games prior to the all star break, but took " personal leave," even though he was paid for those 2 games. Pretty much his comments of not wanting to play in December put his side behind the 8 ball in terms of the buyout that he got. So he'll be getting 2.14 million over the next 7 years, not bad, if he decides not to suit up again.....but my guess, if he survives the offseason, he'll be back at the minimum.
Hopefully the league has something in place for cases like Sanders, at least to monitor him. In 2007, Eddie Griffin was cut by the Wolves, 5 months later he was dead.

I know every one likes to bash because a player smoke weed but it was never the sole reason behind his motives about the nba. He's said multiple times basketball doesn't consume his life

"internal discussion" = GM and coaches are throwing the idea around
His trip to Texas was a vacation and not sports/career related
Mavs and Sanders have not talked to one another

If he could be 75% of what he was before he secured that contract, anyone would want him.

Larry Sanders talking again about his intent to rejoin an NBA team in the near future. Still fully on board on rolling the dice on him, especially if Dwight/Whiteside and guys of that ilk aren't available in free agency this summer.

I think I'd take him at this point and even allow him to smoke marijuana and live with the suspensions.

Alex Kennedy: Larry Sanders is working out in California. Several teams have shown interest in him and he remains open to the idea of an NBA comeback.

Im sure he'll be a great fit in Cleveland or GS. Players only come out of retirement if they can jump on a bandwagon.

Could be... Or maybe it's just a team on the cusp that's unwilling to take a risk on him.

I'd be 95% okay with signing him, but it sounds like he just wants to play for a contender.

I wonder how long it'd take for him to get back to game speed. He's been out of the league awhile now. Sometimes it just never returns.
But Sanders at 90% of his old self. Along with Bogut and Meijiri...we'd have the best rim protection in the league- aside from maybe Whiteside.

Can not believe he is serious about Bucks or Heat. Milwaukee is kind of long way from Los Angeles. Then again, so is Dallas. Heat already has its big man and Sanders would hardly see floor there.
Dallas is the only team out of these four that has constantly shown interest in him, unless my memory fails here. I do believe it comes down to Lakers or Mavs. I am less sure about signing Sanders though. There has to be a reason why Warriors and Cavs took a pass on him. At the same time, signing him for the minimum is no problem, I just am not certain if he should get the minutes over the other guys Dallas has.

He obviously would not be starting. So then isn't your backup center going to be either Mejri or Sanders? I would have no problem signing him and seeing if he's got anything left. Figure half a game for Bogut, quarter a game of small ball with a PF at center (Dirk or Powell), and that leaves a quarter of a game between Mejri and Sanders. Sounds good to me.

Time for a bump...
Per Shams Charania, Sanders has "ramped up NBA comeback efforts. He has hired agent Joel Bell and started visits to teams."

I dont want a dude near my team who buys dog puppies and let them with no food and shelter outside during snow and threatens concerned neighbours.
Guy can go to hell.

I do not mind Mavs trying him out but I honestly do not see it happening. Mavs released Acy in favor of making space for a guard. Only way I see Sanders getting a chance with Mavs is if Bogut is bought out or traded.
In general, I do not care about Sanders. I have no high hopes and think of him as washed up by league's standards. It is more believable that he is looking for that extra cash.

Is he even in NBA shape after being out of the league for a couple seasons?

Shhhh, Sanders will be back in perfect shape and will choose us. He'll average 15-16-4 to go with Yogi's 20-9-4stl. We'll fly into the playoffs and take Golden State to 4.
