Even if it's just a rental it's a great deal. Oladipo contract was awful.

Huge win for the Thunder, even if it's a one-year rental. They shed Oladipo's contract and sell out this season all for the low low price of Sabonis.
No idea what the hell Indy is doing. Seriously couldn't even squeeze a pick out?

@MavsNetwork: But for real: who are the non-fringe superstars left in the east?
LeBron, Giannis, Wall, Kyrie, and...?
@MavsNetwork: We don't consider Love, Kemba, and Derozan to be superstars, do we?

Just shut down the East and merge the league's best 16 teams into playoffs. If ever there were a reason.. there's one brewing

Yep, 13 of the top 15 players are in the West, and the other 2 play for Cleveland.
Also, contract the league by 10 teams if this superteam BS is going to be the norm... Like, what's the point of being a fan of half the teams in the NBA anymore?

It will take 5+ years to fix this unbalanced league
And just watch this draft:
east: Fultz/Tatum/Isaac/Markkanen/Frank
west: Ball/Jackson/Fox/Smith
Good chances the west "wins" this draft too

@tim_cato: pretty sure the Eastern Conference is now made up of 14 teams who could make the wide-open playoffs, and the Knicks

@ShamsCharania: Sources: George Hill, Spurs discussions broke off. Denver and New York have so far made initial contact with Hill, one of top PGs on market.

That's a little surprising. I thought someone would offer him big money that GS wouldn't/couldn't match.

Anyone think think we'll ever see a "best 16" playoff selection rather than the bizarreness that is always inviting the top 8 from each half of the country regardless of talent?

Expected him to get a little more than that, though he's always injured. I wonder if all 4 yrs are guaranteed?

Jeff Teague to the T-Wolves... God, I probably have to start watching them this year. If they have problems making the playoffs with that kind of roster... Glad that Rondo is out of the league now, but this only makes Butler trade look even worse.

He has history with Raptors. Remember the deal that fleeced the Knicks when Melo was traded? He was behind that. He also got Iguodala for Afflalo and Al Harrington.
Oh yeah, he fleeced the Knicks when he joined Raptors also... Masai Ujiri traded Bargnani to the New York Knicks for Marcus Camby, Steve Novak, Quentin Richardson, a future first-round draft pick, and two future second-round picks He was even able to trade untradeable Rudy Gay.
He basically gets things done and who else is there for the Knicks to go after? Larry Bird who turned down Boston's picks?

Someone may have offered him more money, but it is doubtful anyone went over 10 mil a year. Being in a guaranteed championship team may make someone take few dollars less.

With CP3 and George Hill off the table, who is going to play for them? 12.5 a year is somewhat okay in my opinion for a guy that knows the system and in a situation where he may have to become a starter.

I hope with the East being as shitty as it is, that the Brooklyn pick changes from a likely top 3 pick to a late lotto or worse pick somehow.

@ShamsCharania: Sources: RFA Jonathon Simmons has started meeting process, gauging interest from interested teams such as Sacramento, Clippers, Minnesota.

With Paul George moving West, only 1 of the top 14 players in last year’s #NBARank will be in the Eastern Conference.
WEAK!

ICYMI: I believe Nene’s contract might need to be re-worked. Over-38 issues. He’s 18 days too old to sign 4/$15M with Non-Bird rights.

What unfortunate timing that would be, considering all the "BEST GM EVAH" arguments which Houston fans felt encouraged to bring up again after the Chris Paul trade.
http://forums.realgm.com/boards/view...463#start_here
Having just traded for CP, you would think Morey's people would have all the over-38 stipulations firmly in mind.

Wrong thread, but I wonder if the Mavs would be interested in beating that contract. Should they decide to get rid of Powell eventually but strike out on Ibaka, couldn't he be quite useful as a cheap backup 4/5?

Seriously! How many small forwards does one team need? There aren't enough minutes at the 3/4 for all of Crowder, Tatum, and Brown. Although I suppose the Celtics could go small and start two of them.
