I'd assume anyone who isn't a Rockets fan would have a mob mentality against Chris Paul and James Harden. They've certainly earned it.

Just a horribly put together roster of ill-fitting pieces.

Does it? I think it makes it more likely as they want to give Lebron a chance to win another and hopefully convince him to stay.

It could go either way. At what point does it get so bad that they start thinking ahead to the future? Cleveland and Lebron both

I think Lebron already knows where he is going. Everyone seems to think he is LA bound, and I personally think they're right. When you have the best player of the last decade on your team though you do everything in your power to win now and hope you can convince him to stay.

Yeah Lebron and Paul George to LA is the most likely still. I’d be fine with that. You know Morey is going to do everything he can to get Lebron though if it’s even at all possible. And I don’t want troll Paul or Flopbeard anywhere near a championship. It might make me give up basketball entirely were that to happen

You guys really think LeBron wants to saddle the rest of his prime years with LaVar Ball? What a glorious trainwreck that would be...

Good point. I'd love to see a sign and trade with Ball somehow ending up in Cleveland. That would make me sports happy. What other legitimate places could Lebron potentially go?

They’re really not. Wonder what they could even get for Ball? Not much what with the father issues and his shooting struggles. And lots of teams set at Point.
I still say Lakers are the favs. With Houston and NY looming as dark horses. No way he stays in Cleveland unless they make some major changes and basically give him partial ownership

I always thought Lonzo was a bad fit for LeBron, skill-wise, but now his trade value is poison -- LaVar pretty much killed the (very favorable) odds of King James landing with the Lakers.
And I know Houston wants to get him, but I just don't see how LeBron/Harden/CP3 wins a ring when there's only one ball... LeBron really, really needs to realize that there are other skills needed aside from scoring to win a championship. GSW keeps winning because everybody can play on both ends of the floor, whereas Harden is a turnstile, Paul is quickly declining as a defender, and everyone on that team who actually CAN defend would have to be sacrificed to make room for LeBron.
I do like the idea of him teaming up with Porzingis, not to mention that a defensive-minded PG like Frank who can step aside and let LeBron run the offense would be a good fit, but the Knicks are a horribly-run organization who would find some way to mess it all up like they did with Melo/Amare... Also, do Lee and Kanter help move the needle, or are they guys who would need to be replaced before they can truly contend?
Maybe the Clips take a stab?
I dunno, the league seems like a mess of ill-fitting pieces right now, nothing really jumps out as a no-brainer landing spot for LeBron... Too many wannabe superteams, not enough squads who are one legit superstar away from contending. Seems like he'd be better off trying to re-tool the Cavs.

Randle is playing so well that I'm not sure the Lakers trade him.

I'm really not sold on the Lebron+PG13 thing to LA. I know PG13 would love to play there, but LA is so far from being any kind of contender that he would have to just resign himself to making money and being a mentor. Even if LA got those two, you're talking about pretty much building a completely new team from scratch. Is that really better than CLE trading their pick+salary to dump bad players and possibly pick up some quality in return?
Then you add in the whole home town thing with Lebron and how hard is it for him to bail on them ... again?!? Do they take it better now that they have a championship? Or do the fans expect him to finish his career there?
If CLE is smart, they go to him and say they will make whatever trade they can including their pick to improve now. When you have the best player in the league, you don't just let him walk. But then their FO hasn't been the most stable either, so who the hell knows what's going to happen.

Ship sailed on the Nerlens for Randle trade idea. I don't think it's enough for the Lakers.
I agree with Underdog, if you truly look at the landscape, LeBron's best option is to stick with the Cavs and try to retool that thing. Why go to the Lakers with the Ball drama, even if they work a trade, and jump into a much deeper West conference? For all the problems the Cavs have, he'd be walking into more issues. The one thing that the Lakers will have is cap space, but I don't think they'd give LeBron the keys to direct it all like he presumably does in Cleveland.

I still think Matthews is a great fit for Cleveland in a trade scenario. We could absorb a trash contract in return for a favorable pick, even if it isn't the Nets pick but their own. Still valuable to the Mavs, I'd think. Add in one of their younger Euro guys and realize the tank would benefit, and that's a potential trade scenario. I do think the Mavs value having Matthews with DSJ, though, but that's all meh when you're 15-31.

I like MAtthews and can still see him fitting well with next year's roster. The more 3/D he limits himself to, the better he is. He's also been developing a larger game that is fairly impressive.
I also think he provides a stabilizing force in the lockerroom. We lost a lot when Crowder left, because you need lockerroom leaders like him.
I'm not saying Matthews should be untradeable, but unless you get some decent positive assets for him, you don't just shop him just to dump him.

Yeah, I'd really love to find a way to get that Nets pick, but if we did something like Matthews for JR Smith/Zizic/Cavs pick, I'd be alright with that... Especially since the Cavs are struggling a bit, their pick could be better than usual. If we grabbed someone like Mitch Robinson in the mid-twenties, I'd consider that a win... Not to mention that we could always flip the pick, try to move up -- maybe package it with our 2nd rounder or a future 1st.
Got nothing against Wes, but he's not really part of our longterm plans. Plus he's one of our more valuable bargaining chips at the moment.

That would be a great deal. If I'm reading it correctly his contract is non-guaranteed we can waive JR after next season. I think we might have to include Salah or Noel or something to make it work from Cleveland's end though.

I wouldn't have a problem throwing either of those guys into a trade... Obviously we'll take whatever we can get for Noel, and I like Salah, but he's a backup center who's turning 32 next season. If one of them is needed to sweeten the deal, then so be it.

@TheSteinLine: The Trail Blazers are among the teams that have tried to engage the Clippers in trade talks for DeAndre Jordan, according to league sources
@TheSteinLine: But league sources say that the Clippers have yet to receive a proposal from Cleveland, Milwaukee, Portland or anyone else that they’ve found seriously tempting

@wojespn: Milwaukee has fired coach Jason Kidd, league sources tell ESPN.
@wojespn: Bucks assistant coach Joe Prunty will be installed as interim coach, league sources tell ESPN. He will coach Bucks against Phoenix tonight.
@wojespn: Bucks made move on Kidd based upon dropping into the 8th seed in the East, frayed relationships in organization and general non-alignment, league sources tell ESPN. Bucks job will be most sought after of offseason, largely because of @Giannis_An34.

The weirdest thing is seeing Joe Prunty, the Avery Johnson deciple, as interim coach.
I'm not totally surprised, but they probably should have done it in the offseason.

Kidd looking for a job.
Wouldn't offer him an assistantship, even if he'd accept it. Still a little weird to see him go. Team just isn't that talented outside Giannis and were in a rough spot in the schedule.
Now if Dwayne Casey ever lost his job...I'd be on the phone in an instant. Dude was one of the most talented player and X/O guys we've ever had.

Wow, apparently Woj broke the Kidd news on Twitter before Kidd had even been informed...
