They tried to make it interesting at the end. Glad we got the L. That was big.

Best I can figure is he wanted to keep everyone under 30 minutes tonight. No real reason for Barnes or Wes not to play much in the 4th qtr either... Granted there wasn't any reason for Dirk or Barea to be out there.

Only thing that's a little misleading with this chart is 6 teams are all tied with 18 wins. Like ORL being 18-38 when the Mavs are 18-40. All they have to do is lose 2 games to be tied with us. It's more a "lead" when we have fewer wins than they do...

The Jamaican Pride jerseys are un-undefeated.

@TheKobeBeef: "We have a strategy and an approach, and clearly if any games are winnable--as we showed two nights ago--we'll win them. I'm always a believer that if you have an approach and stick with it, things will happen the right way." -Carlisle on if fans wanting team to lose is insulting

JJB needs to benched permanently. Good grief, he plays like superman during these tank games.

I'm guessing Dirk and JJB are playing because it's a home game and they are still fan favorites who want to be seen on the court. Honestly, the most enjoyable part of the game was watching ZBo drive on Dirk in slow motion as was stated more than once and then Dirk taking a 3 point shot over Vince. It's like watching the Granpa League and I was loving it!

Oh yeah, I posted that midway through the 4th qtr. I was referencing why were JJ & Dirk playing with 6 min to go in the 4th & the Mavs down by 17 pts or whatever it was. I honestly wasn't even worried about the Mavs making a comeback (I guess I should of been as it turns out). I was legit wondering why the young guys weren't getting PT in a blowout loss.

You're all welcome. I went to this crapfest and we got the L.
No idea why Dirk and Barea were out there so much in the 4th. Dirk, maybe for some catch-up to Wilt? Barea out there creating insanely too much offense at times. Incredible no contender wanted to boost their bench...
Collinsworth is super slow in person. It's obvious on TV, but man, it's not a smoother/slower type of game, a la Parsons or even McDermott, it's just slow.
Salah, not sure how a guy his size is so easily bullied. He does not use his length well most of the time in iso defense.
Powell honestly looks good. He's playing really well lately and showed up again.
DSJ looks tired. He will get better and better choosing his shots. He threw up some 3's he shouldn't, and passed on shots he shouldn't. He's 19.
No Motley...
Kings are bad. Like, somehow worse than the Mavs despite the outcome here and the fact that the Mavs trailed by 20+ for a lot of this one. The shooting is gross, outside of Bogdanovic. No idea why Hield or Jackson can't do more for them, but looks like Hield just had an off game.
So nice to see Z-Bo go off. If he can do that maybe 4-5 more times, that'd be nice for the tank.

Thank you for helping us get the L! Haha...
Interesting report on Collinsworth.
If this were 5 years ago, then Barea would of been moved I think. Unfortunately, with KD joining the Warriors, teams just don't want to pay to upgrade their team when they don't believe they have a legitimate shot to win a 'ship. Also, teams aren't willing to part with 1st rounders like they use to. Would of been nice to move Barea, though.... Not to mention, the other part about Barea. He wasn't very good in Minnesota. I think he has a reputation around the league as being a system guy in Dallas. That can't help his trade value.
I think Z-Bo is going to start racking up the DNP-CDs again after the ASB once Skal LaBissiere returns. Would be nice to see him push the Kings to a few more Ws tho.

It was nice to see Motley finally get some quality. :/ Hopefully he is giving the 4's and 5's some competition in practice.

With our remaining schedule, I dont see how we end up with anything better than a 5 pick. Im guessing around 5-7 is where the Mavs land for the draft.

FiveThirtyEight projects
PHX 24 wins
ATL 25 wins
SAC 26 wins
BKN 26 wins
MEM 27 wins
DAL 27 wins
ORL 28 wins
CHI 30 wins
So, they agree with your assessment. Sadly, I think 6th worst record is pretty spot on. I don't see how we go 9-15 over the last 24, but I think these win projections are inflated & are just a model based on current season's #s. They don't take into consideration the human element of tanking effects. So I expect everyone to be 2-3 games lower on the win totals.
It's a damn shame we couldn't of dropped that game to SAC in SAC & Saturday's game vs LAL. I know that means not winning any games at all in the Mavs last 11 games, but that's seriously the type of losing you have to do in order to compete with this log jam for the worst record this year.

Reason: had the wrong record projected

I still think Lebron will find a way to Houston to bro it up with Harden and Cliff Paul. But it wouldn’t shock me to see the Cavs win the lotto and then magically swing a trade for Anthony Davis or something. David Stern throwback special

I think it's going to be very hard to predict the rest of this season. I can see RC almost completely throwing in the towel after the ASB and going with several G league players. If that happens, games will get very ugly very quickly.
