Dont get me wrong, I actually agree with a lot of you posts and I know that Randell is not a very good defender. BUT he is young and athletic and pairing him with another big that can protect the rim could be huge as continues to learn and improve his D.
I actually don't mind Randle, as a role player. Luke Walton said a lot of positive things about him, and I think they're accurate. Walton just casually left out all of the negatives too.

If Randle is my 7th/8th best player, and he's a low post version of a "microwave" player or instant offense off the bench, then I'm very happy. I would not want to pay him above his role, either.

A lot of teams will only have 5-6 mil to offer a player this offseason. I wouldn't want to come in & offer more to get Randle here. I'd give him maybe 3 for 20 mil, with a club option for year 4. Maybe something like that.

But, I'm also very okay with not having him because of all of the holes in his game, and I expect somebody out there will overpay for him. I don't want that to be us.

I don't think anyone on the board is trying to money whip Randle. Depending on the money, that wouldn't be a bad start to help shore up rebounding issues. Someone brought up Powell, which is a good point. Under contract for two more years and very similar player. I'd also mention Motley, and the prospects of the FO thinking he is the better bet to develop and is going to obviously be cheaper. You may be looking at a log jam if you bring Randle into the fold, as well.
