Poor Joe Prunty sure as heck isn't going to have a job next season if he loses out 0-4.

Totally forgot he used to work for the Mavs.
"The second job Egan helped Prunty led to a 20-year career in the NBA. It includes stints as an assistant coach/video coordinator on three Spurs championship teams; an assistant on Dallas’ 2006 Western Conference championship team; a role in coaching Dirk Nowitzki and Tim Duncan in their MVP seasons; coaching Duncan, Kyrie Irving and Malcolm Brogdon in their rookie of the year seasons; and being on the bench during coach of the year seasons for Popovich and Avery Johnson."

Jrue defense on Dame is killing him + the double teams. They really need a Deandre Jordan in the offseason to help take pressure off of the two guards. I can see fatigue/frustration because they busted their ass to get up there to the 3 seed.

I haven't researched it, but the announcers during an earlier bucks game were saying that the Bucks defense as been terrible under Prunty. Offense got better but defense tanked.

On paper it certainly looks like they have enough talent. Maybe we have been spoiled by watching Rick coach scrubs into a competitive team that you don't realize how bad some coaches are? Of course, they are playing the 2 seed.

Ok....Rondo plays good everywhere but in Dallas? When he's here, he just pulls the weakest quit on the court in the playoffs? Everywhere else, he's "playoff Rondo"?
Black players don't seem to want to be in Dallas. The rep as a "ring wing city" can't help (even though that claim is ridiculous)

Someone else already said it best, so I'll just quote them here...
@dav_mcg: Everything his team has gone through this year, everything Pop has spoken out about and the criticism he’s weathered, all the while secretly carrying the weight of his wife’s illness. Unfathomable.

When did Andrew Wiggins become hot garbage? Talk about a guy who has yet to live up to his potential.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CyAna5Z83Ow
Everyone makes fun of this clown, current players, former players, current coaches, and past coaches. The people in Houston cling to some wording in the rule book that basically turns the NBA gather and pivot rules in conjunction with the travel rules and make it about as bad as NFL catch rules. Bottom line is the dude hooks his arms on ppl and acts like he's mugged for ft's. He snaps his head back and rubs his nose like he's expecting blood when there is no contact to his face. He "cleverly" takes 4 steps back but gathers at a mid dribble - mid step and is allowed to take 4 steps but really 3 steps but actually 2 steps because of a pivot.... No it's a travel and he is disgusting to watch. I can't watch Houston games at all anymore because the games are a joke. Even the clip above with Lebron, Harden is repeatedly hooking his arm under Lebrons and he's even staring at the ref while he's attempting to do it and the ref sees it all and does absolutely nothing.

The Wolves would be a much better team if they traded Wiggins straight up for Courtney Lee this summer. Wiggins can't play effectively next to Butler or KAT, and Teague isn't a starting PG on a real contender.
Not to mention how awful Derrick Rose and Jamal Crawford (who has a player option! this summer) have been.

When he was about to check in, Spoelstra went over to him, put his hand on his shoulder and said something. Whiteside's body language was so like "dont talk to me Im not listening"
Then went on to turnover the ball, play super lethargic and completely checked out.
Diamonds in the rough are that for a reason. Cant always expect longevity out of them.

Yeah I saw that too. Whiteside is a box of rocks player with empty stats.
Nurkic also not showing up and injured again.
Honestly, some of these offensive centers really hurt their teams in the playoffs. Whiteside isn't really good at offense or defense.
If the Mavs draft a center, then I think he has to have huge defensive upside or you really do just get the next Monroe/Nurkic/KAT.

Towns has been positively terrible with Capela being the far superior player. Gorgui Dieng had more impact last game than KAT did.
I wouldn't be against the Mavs getting an offensive center IF they had a really good defensive PF. JJJ would pair well with such a guy.

Yeah....even if we could have him for capspace peanuts this summer i dont want him. Rondo 2.0 with Rick...he is also 29, so he wont grow up.
If we still need a new starting center after the draft night:
hell no to a Whiteside trade
hello no to Jordana (wouldnt happen anyway)
hell no to throwing max at Capela (Morey matches this time anyway but would wait seven days to stick it to Cuban)
I would probably try to swap Powell and Dieng...but i really dont like Diengs third year, this could screw our 2020 free agency.
Rest of the FA center are crap (Monroe, Lopez etc)

I'm starting to come to this thinking as well. Barring an obvious upgrade I'm hoping we keep Powell and resign Salah let them share the starting 5 spot depending on the matchup. Clint Capela would be nice though because he is basically both of those guys combined in one.

@TheSteinLine: The mumurs have already started In coaching circles that 10 consecutive playoffs defeats will cost Terry Stotts his job in Portland, but league sources say Orlando would register immediate interest in Stotts if he becomes available

Sad. I think it's a roster makeup that has killed that team. Aminu is their only defensive starter and the rest are literally the worst defensive 4 one could start.

OKC is so hard to watch. Still taking turns with ISO's and shooting pull up jumpers 10 seconds into the shot clock without any movement or passes.

OKC doesn't have a superstar. That may be a hot take, but I just can't see it in any of their "big" three.

The trade saved their seasons....hell Bobby Portis saved their season.
They are going to offer Cousins the max anyway and then try to get a better wing, probably offering Mirotic in a deal.
