"real fans" - just hooligans causing damage to something that isn't theirs. That's just a stupid mob.

You know, Mitchell is a great story, but I feel sometimes like I'm the only one who sees the flaws.

Mitchell becomes grossly overrated...he plays great, but his shooting numbers are garbage. But everyone just ignores his chucker stats

I don't think you're the only one. Honestly I still think Simmons is RoY and it's not close for me. The only hype that I felt was justified was how Mitchell played in the playoffs. But if he plays like he did yesterday that goes out the window. Not because he played like a rookie but because he looked like the worst player on the floor. And while he looked like the worst player on the floor BSPN was showing a matchup comparison of him vs Harden, like it was somehow supposed to be a real matchup between the 2. And people actually are buying into that, which is ridiculous. He played great against one of the most overrated teams in recent memory and now he's a superstar. Talk shows are literally already calling him a star destined to be a superstar after one series against a team that played maybe the worst team basketball I've ever watched in the playoffs or at least the worst I've seen till the next RWB led team plays next year.

Announcers on all stations, especially PBP, are trying desperately to get people interested in the playoffs. It's so obvious and so pathetic that I sometimes just mute the TV when watching games. Last night's NO/Warriors game, ugh.
Mitchell has heart and a killer's mentality, but the idea that he is some great playmaker (a rumor that spread like wildfire on social media because of a couple of neat passes) is just stupid. It's like the media is trying their best to drown him in his own success.

Still infinitely better than the weak crowds of today's NBA. Coming late, leaving early, yeah. But that's not as much an issue with the attitude of those attending games, but more what type of "fan" the NBA attracts.

Embiid was pretty bad down the stretch. Simmons was bad as well. Youth is great but they need more time. Ultimately the biggest difference in this series to me is easily the coaching. Swap the coaches and I think it could be 3-0 Phil.

I have a tremendous amount of respect for him. He is such a smart player... he knows he’s lost a little bit of juice on that first step but he uses pump fakes and his body really well to maintain separation. There's never any question that he is the best player on the court at all times. He doesn't have duds (besides the '11 Finals ) like we just saw from Demar Derozan.

Fultz could help the Sixers so much in this series if he wasn't a bust mentally.

I still have mixed feelings about Lebron but this from Dave McMenamin is spot on...
"What a remarkable 10 games for LeBron in these playoffs so far: Two buzzer-beating game winners; four 40-point games; two triple-doubles; one game scoring the first 16 points of the contest for CLE; one game tying his career playoff high in assists with 14; and a 7-3 record"

There are two truths about LeBron:
1) He's the best basketball player in the world, arguably the best ever.
2) "Arguably" because he's a bitch when it comes to team-building and loyalty.

Whats with shitting on the rookies? These guys have been playing way above their shoulders for majority of the season and of course being rookies the playoffs are going to be a different story for them.
Its not their fault media picks up good stories and wants to elevate them. There isnt anyone ever really that can lead teams in playoffs in their first year.

#2 This should be implanted into his hall of fame statue. He literally ruined the league by creating the buddy-buddy league that now creates a huge disparity between the elite and not so elite teams.
We all give so much crap to guys like Durant and others who have done the same thing, but Lebron started it all. He is to blame, 100%.

Im not shitting on Mitchell, he is a great rookie but becomes grossly overrated even in his sucking games
He has a terrible game, Jazz win because of Ingles and others but postgame its all again "Mitchell Mitchell Mitchell"

Nobody is shitting on the rookies. We're actually just showing a different side from the media that thinks Mitchell/Simmons can do no wrong.

I get your point but Magic... Bird...Duncan... Not expecting that of him or anyone else really...

Nah, 2011 wasn't a "dud" for Lebron...the Mavs were that good. They did it to everybody. The West is the tough conference, right? The Mavs got to the Finals from the West and swept the 2 time defending champs on the way there. Beating the Heat in their first year together was pretty impressive...but hardly as impressive as what the Mavs did to the Lakers.
It's not likely that all these players picked that one year to have a "dud":
Kobe
Lebron
Wade
KD
Westbrook
Gasol
Aldridge
Bosh
Harden
The common denominator was the Mavs. They had the coaching, they played great team defense, they had two Hall of Famers playing at the top of their game, Chandler was the defensive anchor that won him Defensive Player of the Year the next season, and the role players made big plays in big moments.
It's never been fair the 2011 Mavs that they are painted as an inferior team in service to the anti-Lebron crowd.
But yeah...Lebron is just making his critics look silly right now. How can they ever hold on to their "he's a choker" thing?

The fans actually started it.
Fans of a certain player started "counting rings" post 90s and attributing them to a single player. It became a part of a player's legacy even though it's a team stat.
The players heard that over the years. (especially in the age of social media) So....they didn't want to end up like Barkley and Malone and accused of being losers because their teams weren't good enough. Barkley himself now admits he would have gone somewhere like Houston sooner if he'd know it would be held against him that he didn't get a ring.
Lebron gave the Cavs 7 years. That sounds like plenty to me. At that point, it starts to become obvious that organization can't get it done. So...Lebron did it himself. Pretty impressive really.
Now fans are playing it both ways. "He didn't win enough rings!" on one hand and... "He's chasing rings!" on the other hand.
Fans need to pick a side on that.
And look how it effects the players. Here is how they talk now. Go to 1:15 and see Shaq mocking Barkley over "rings". It's the most illogical thing in the world but it's the mantra now:

This.
As good as that dude is he's forever a piece of shit. When Dirk retires and recalls the journey it took for him to get his ring, it's going to be something he is extremely proud of and rightfully so. When Lebron retires and recalls his "journey" he's going to recall how he was on a 3 seat tandem bike riding downhill with a breeze against marathon runners uphill barefoot.
And fans have nothing to do with it, he wanted to be considered the greatest and decided to go for the easiest route possible end of story. Bill Russell, Kareem, Oscar, Jordan, Magic... there are still people who consider any of them the best for different reasons. It's never just about the rings, that's just what Jordan fans say. Lebron cheapened his journey, and honestly unless he plays against the Rockettes I'm almost always rooting against him. He's an amazing player and anyone with eyes and at least a basic understanding of basketball would have said he was one of the 5 greatest ever even if he ended with just 2 rings while staying 20yrs in cleveland. But no he took the easy way, im not giving him one bit of a pass.

That free throw graphic they showed of Harden is so disgusting. And they showed it moments after Harden blasts Exum in the face and flails his arms and once again gets the call.
