He actually played fine during that time. Decided that he didn't want to make any money shortly thereafter.

It doesn't matter what Noel's stats were, it matters that Rick thought we had a better chance of losing with him on the court.

I'd bring Nerlens back for the right price if we don't draft a center. He had the best defensive rating on the team, and the second best defensive box +/-. Yeah he's frustrating but I think we've clearly seen that it's important to have a mobile 5 who can switch. If Rick is still willing to work with him, bring him back.

Really don't know why he would want to be here. Also don't know why we would want him back. He will get more mins somewhere else, so a prove it deal is more beneficial in a place where he will play more. And on our side, we are one of the worst rebounding teams and have little to no rim protecton... and Dwight Powell is a better option for us than Noel. Says everything really, Dwight has some nice qualities but none of those qualities include rebounding or rim protection.

Agreed I really dont know why Noel gets brought back up. Like that gf youre afraid to let go of but yall werent good for each other anyway. It serves neither side to have him back next season for the reasons you mentioned.

I tried voting for none of the players. Wasn't an option.

I wonder if all of our players drafted will actually make it to our opening day roster. If so, I also wonder how young our team will be in comparison to the rest of the league. We'll have 5 first and second round drafted players. That'll be the first in quite some time. Then I wonder how many more undrafted players that we'll keep.

I didn't vote for Maxi Kleber, but I actually think that the Mavericks will keep him. Same probably goes for some other players. This will probably be a tough offseason to predict. However, I think the Mavericks FINALLY get their big man. And what an exciting trio it'll be with Dennis Smith Jr, Luka Doncic, and this other player.

Probably not, Donnie has already indicated that all of our second-rounders are probably going to spend some time in the G-League.

Even Brunson? I was hoping that when Rick needs to scratch his itch for a 3 guard lineup that we might get to see DSJ, Doncic, and Brunson on the floor together. Highly unlikely with Rick due to their ages, but it sure sounds fun.

We still have Barea and Wes under contract for another year... They're probably gonna eat up all the guard minutes that DSJ and Luka don't.

Wasn’t it Rick that said that in the press conference after the draft?

I think Brunson makes the opening day roster. They viewed him as a 1st rounder. It will just depend on how he plays in Summer League and training camp.

Already putting up billboards with Brunson on them. I’d say the odds of him making the roster are 100% +/- 0%

There’s a billboard up of Brunson? Near the arena? Where at exactly?

Billboards or posters and such around AAC? I can go for a run later or perhaps tomorrow night and peak around the AAC.

While I don't know for sure that he'll be a rotation player, I would expect Brunson to be on the main roster and active more often than not.

Oh ok. I live in Dallas and haven’t seen any yet. I haven’t driven by the arena since the draft though. I’ll have to keep any eye and snap some pics if I see them.

I was down there Friday for the NHL draft and didn't see any, but I wasn't really looking for them either. Of course that was 1 day after the draft, so maybe they weren't up yet?

Great article by Jordan Brodess@Jbrodess for Mavs Moneyball
https://www.mavsmoneyball.com/2018/6...-the-mavericks
Doug McDermott can be a longterm building block for the Mavericks
After spending the last third of the season in Dallas, McDermott is a restricted free agent the Mavericks need to bring back.

@wojespn: Dallas has tendered a qualifying offer to guard Yogi Ferrell and he'll become a restricted free agent on July 1, league source tells ESPN.

Huh.
QO is only 2.9 mill but seems like we’re stacked with guards
Smith, Barea, Brunson, Ferrell, and maybe Harris?

Can't trade a player unless they're on your roster.

It would also give the Mavs the option to match any deal if Brunson and/or JJ has to be included in a trade.

Dougie
QO declined making them a UFA
