@World_Wide_Wob: ok someone gotta explain to me how the Thunder are willing to pay an amount of money in luxury tax that would make Warren Buffet sweat to keep Russ/Melo/George together but couldnt pay an extra $14 million for Harden/KD/Westbrook

I love how the entire league doesn't give two shits about what LeBron is doing this summer -- the cap space is drying up in a hurry, nobody waiting for The Decision this time around.

What a strange deal for them. Why do they want 33-year-old Ariza?

@TheSteinLine: The Timberwolves began free agency by informing star guard Jimmy Butler that they intend to offer him a maximum contract extension valued in the four-year, $110 million range as soon as he's eligible to sign the deal on July 9, league sources say
@TheSteinLine: As with other top free agents in 2019, more money is available to Butler if he plays out his contract and proceeds to the open market next summer, but Minnesota's bid to sign him is no surprise. Butler and a Karl-Anthony Towns extension are the Wolves' offseason priorities.

I really really hope he doesnt extend...i want him next summer, even on a 30m deal.
And he shouldnt, Wolves are still garbage and may get bumped out of the playoffs. Wiggins is one of the worst contracts in the league, Dieng overpaid, Gibson old and KAt cant defend.

Doug McDermott to Indiana 3/22. Liked him, but not for that contract.

That contract is actually pretty fair. Basically the MLE.

It's a fair contract, but he was a one-trick pony. I'd much rather roll the dice on Hezonja, Glenn Robinson III, etc.

@HoopsRumors: The Spurs have reportedly asked for three first-round picks and two players in return for Kawhi Leonard. Here's the latest on Philly's bid for Leonard: https://www.hoopsrumors.com/2018/07/...eepstakes.html

Lebron fully commits on a 4 year deal. I wonder if they ramp up their efforts to obtain Kawai. Can't wait to see the Lavar and Lebron side show. How long before we see Cleveland fans burning his jersey again?

LOL 34-38 year old LeBron is going to be, like, the 5th best player to ever wear a Lakers jersey... Have fun never making it back to the Finals again!

I live in San Antonio. If Kawhi (and his group) fake an injury and sit out until the TDL there may literally be riots in the street. The collective anger is palpable.

5th best? Name 4 who are better. And I'll laugh if you say Kobe Bryant.

I meant not to sit out games, i meant not forcing a trade at any costs
And right now the Spurs asking price is way too high.

Lebron just had his best season yet imho. It's insane how he's managed to continue playing at this level. Also I wonder which Western Conference teams the Mavericks will be better than.
Phoenix Suns, Sacramento Kings, Memphis Grizzlies, L.A. Clippers, and who else?

I'm not talking about LeBron's past, I'm talking about his future -- the guy isn't about to turn back the clock... Saying that Prime Kobe was better than an athletically-fading 34-38 year old LeBron who will probably never return to the Finals again isn't exactly a stretch... Plus, Prime Kareem, Prime Magic, Prime Wilt.
LA is about to be getting post-Prime LeBron. The fall will come in the next 4 years.

Speaking of Klutch clients...
@ShamsCharania: Sources: Free agent center Nerlens Noel has narrowed decision on signing to these teams: The Wizards, Lakers, Thunder --- with interest from the Pelicans.

Smart move by LeBron honestly. Cavs had little options to actually improve the roster and Lakers have a chance to form their own big-3. Might be Kawhi, might be Boogie, might be both. This makes it more interesting that PG-13 committed to OKC so early.

Too soon to rank the Western Conference teams. I'm getting eager to see how I think they'll all fall. I bet OKC finds a way to part ways with Melo, and Melo ends up in.... L. A.? If Cousins leaves the Pelicans for the Lakers, then I say that the Lakers are still better than the Mavericks. It's time to hate the Lakers again. They're not only getting LeBron.
As long as the Spurs do everything to prevent Kawhi from joining LeBron I'll be happy with the Spurs organization. Also I actually would love to see Melo join LBJ. Maybe he can ruin things for him.

Thunder are going to stretch Melo so he counts with 7m the next three years against the cap.
With that they will save NINETY million. And yeah, Carmella is going banaboating with Lebron

I could see Melo end up on the Rockets.
Lakers will have to weigh giving up assets for Kawhi/ signing Cousins/ signing Randle vs. maintain as much cap space as possible to make a run at Kawhi/ Butler/ Klay next year. I think they're pretty much done making moves. Spurs might be stuck taking a mediocre offer from the 76ers or keeping Kawhi.

The 2nd-highest ranked Eastern player?
John Wall at 15th overall.
