Phoenix is a destination? They paid Ricky Rubio 3 years 51MILLION DOLLARS to go there.
Dallas COULD get a free agent. All it would cost them is massively overpaying.

Okay? That is far from the going rate to dump 23million in contract, but sure. If that's what it would take to make you happy.
I just think you'll be disappointed.
I'm thinking 2-3 second rounders or MAYBE one distant first.

@townbrad: Attempting to get clarification of missing piece in Miami-Dallas-Philly trade. Those issues apparently being worked through as we speak because the only explanation I got is Miami and other teams see Dallas as a "dump team. Everyone is looking to send us salary."

But if we didn't like dragic and couldn't do something else then why in the actual fuck did we not pull out of the deal. We're not beholden to the god damn heat. We have no need to help them. If anything fuck the heat, I'd be more tempted to screw them than help them if it's mavs neutral. Fuck this trade. All of this is contingent on the trade being as advertised.
|
Couldn't have said it better myself. I'm tired of this crap. I can understand it when we don't have salary cap space......but we can't sign anyone even with cap space?

Exactly. That' literally every single team in the league. So am I suppose to believe Dallas is this horrible organization and horrible place to live? I'm not buying it.

Seems like a win-win to me. We get a decent backup for the PF/C spot to reduce minutes for KP while also getting a pick or two for unloading a bad salary from another team.
Of course, those sweeteners havent been announced yet.
|
Confused by your post. I never said we didn't like Porzingis.

So you let teams dump guys on you they don't want and you don't even get a 1st rounder or anything in return? Smh.

Jones played 19mpg. DFS played 24.5
Jones shot 31% from three. DFS shot 31% from three
It's hard to take that seriously when you say he's DFS without a jump shot.

@BlakeWeird: This offseason started with goals of getting Kemba Walker.
Within five hours of free agency the Mavs are referring to themselves as a “Dump Team”.
If that’s not confidence inspiring, I don’t know what is!

I think this is why most fans are upset. We should get more than a poo poo platter to help the Heat get one of the best players in the NBA right now.
Right now this is a bad trade for us. Maybe it will change with the sweeteners but right now it stinks.

So what is the plan then?In order to sign free agents you have to overpay. If the Mavs are waiting for bargains they will be waiting for eternity. I watched Dirk's last prime years get wasted on this crap I'm not interested in going through this again. This is silly at this point. We are at least owed what type of approach to free agency these guys are taking. They are honest and open about everything until it comes to building the team.

Jones not only shot about the same from three as DFS (31% each)
Jones had the superior defensive rating.

Its hard to take it seriously when you are hyping a dump player
He's played 112 games in 3 seasons. DFS has played 183
Jones has never averaged 20 minutes per game, DFS has never NOT averaged 20 minutes per game.
In his 3rd season, Jones finally his 31% from 3, DFS has basically hit 30% all three seasons

Are you aware that he not only got 4 years/85 million for a guy that has questionable health
He also cost a first rounder and two second rounders?

There is a “glitch” in the Butler-Richardson trade according to sources, as the Heat do not want to give up Derrick Jones and Dallas is telling people the deal is off. Expectation is that the deal is too far down the road to fall apart and will get ironed out.

Jones is a minimum deal guy. He's not a dump player.
But yeah, Jones has played a few fewer games. Good job pulling those elite stats.
Olynyk being a backup earning 11.7mill this year and 12.2 mill is the salary dump.
Jones literally doesn't hurt your cap because he's earning a minimum deal.

Brogdon at 4/85 in insanely more attractive than some of these other deals.

Lol it's the Heat that doesn't want to give up Jones? Like, we're enabling you to get Butler for Kelly Olynk and Jones, but that's too much for you? This is bad comedy if any of it is actually true...

Mavs fans pissing all over two different trades that weren't even happening.
Mavs still have the cap space for a full young max player.
Still some decent talent out there, just not any max guys.
I just hope we don't overpay.
