Again my biggest frustration with RC. Just refuses to put our main players in until we are actually losing

Disgusting loss. 100 percent on Carlisle.
Thanks for the title, time to go.

It’s amazing how much the mavs suck. They would undoubtedly be the worst team in the league if they didn’t luck the hell out trading for Luka.

Losing two against the Knicks... you can’t be serious about the playoffs. That pipe dream is over.

Remember when the FO quick reacted that terrible contract to Seth Curry when they were caught flat footed in free agency? And now we get to see him play 23 unearned minutes over Jackson's 0 because of that very reason.
I don't care about the loss. I care that we're getting back to the ridiculousness of who gets minutes and doesn't with coach.

Was letting the Knicks sweep us part of the Porzingis trade? One has got to wonder.

Luka and KP had all the stats... The rest of this team are bench guys.

I definitely would have liked to see more Justin Jackson in this game. Also, I agree with others that are tired of Carlisle resting our best player for more than half of the fourth. Sickening loss

Seth, Powell, and THJ have some juicy contracts. :-( And here I was so excited because at one point last season we got rid of Wes and Barnes, and Powell opted out in the offseason. LOL Some teams just don't know how to handle success. SMH

RC needs to give 5-6 guys some consistency in minutes. Experimenting was fine when when we didn’t have Luka and KP.
Now we have 2 great player and need the other 3-4 players to gel with them instead of the contact turmoil in the lineups.

Which is exactly why it was so maddening that RC sat both of them for more than half of the 4th quarter.

At this point, it's pretty clear to me who I'd start:
Luka
KP
Maxi
Wright
Jackson
2nd team
Boban
Powell
THJ/DFS
Brunson
Seth/Barea
Edit: activate Broekhoff and give him some burn and see if he can make some shots in Seth's place with the 2nd unit. He sure as hell can't do any worse.

Luka averages 35 minutes per game. Luka played 35 minutes tonight. 35 minutes per game puts you in the top 10 in the NBA. James Harden averages 36.5 for D’Antoni who has a reputation for overplaying his players. Wtf are y’all crying about?

stop with this bullshit. There is no other coach available that is even close as good.
We fire Rick and the same night he has at least a handful other teams on the phone that would fire their coaches for him

What's funny is we all expected a different starting lineup and got Curry and DFS again...
It does seem like Rick wants to subvert ANY fan expectation whatsoever whether it costs him a win or not.

That's a pitiful excuse. When the game is tied and your star player is 20 years old and ON FIRE, you don't sit him for the first seven minutes of the fourth quarter.

I don’t know if it’s all on Carlisle though. I still think he’s a good coach. I heard a stat on the radio today that the Mavs are scoring like 101 points per 100 possessions with KP on the floor and 125 points per 100 possessions with him off. Carlisle has to figure how to utilize Kristaps. KP obviously has some responsibility to figure it out as well.
Honestly, I think we probably beat the Knicks without KP tonight, but in the long run, the Mavs can’t dream of making any serious noise without him. Hopefully, these are the growing pains toward something special down the line.

In this singular game, Carlisle screwed the pooch. Again, in the setting where this game was being played against a bad team who was feeding off of the crowd you have to let Luka and his hot hand carry the team for a few minutes... at that point you could’ve completely deflated the Knicks and the game would’ve been well in hand.
Does Luka play a lot of minutes? Sure he does. But there’s NO WAY you sit your stars 7 minutes to start the 4th quarter. Luka lost all his rhythm and it gave the Knicks a fighters chance.
We lost because of it.

With as gummed up as the offense was at times, I wonder why we didn't see even a few minutes of JJB? He can usually break up an offensive logjam, even if it's only in short bursts. The second unit could've used that tonight.

Agreed. That's poor game management which is what coach is supposed to be known for.
I'm still more pissed that Jackson gets shafted for no good reason other than he doesn't make 20 million dollars this season.
Once again though, I could care less about the loss. The knicks fans would burn down NYC if they didn't win this one so they are in desperation mode. They won't win 10 more games this season.
And KP actually played better than I thought he would. Now we can all move on from this nonsense hopefully.

Yeah I'm with you. I don't care about individual wins and losses this season. It's obvious that this roster is pretty much trash outside of Luka and KP. It's really frustrating to watch in real team a loss that clearly should have been a win.

There have been quite a few of them already. (Blazers, Lakers, Knicks). Growing pains, maybe? Hopefully we don’t look back later in the year and wonder, what if? As we’re outside looking in at playoff time.
