I'm very excited, but MAN it feels really weird to have a new season starting when the finals were just a few weeks ago.

What’s that? I haven’t watched NBA basketball since Aug 30
It’ll have been 104 days without Mavs basketball

Nuggets just extended Monte Morris for 3yrs-27m. Makes me feel even better about that Trey Burke re-up. Morris may be steadier and more consistent but he isn’t TWICE as good. Love the deal for Burke.

Still a shorter turnaround than usual. It's been nearly a decade since the Mavs got out of the first round. I'm accustomed to the Mavs' season ending in April and not starting until October-November.

Barea is the guy who will be cut as if that wasn't already obvious per TMAC.

Keeping JJB on roster would have been incredibly hard to justify.

Sources: Mavs plan to sign Courtney Lee to replace J.J. Barea on camp roster. Like Barea, Lee was considered a leader and great vet in Dallas locker room despite not being in regular rotation last season. Mavs value that kind of presence even though Lee is roster long shot.

For the 35-year-old Lee, it's an opportunity to prove he's healthy after sitting out the restart due to a calf injury and work against NBA competition while he looks to catch on with another team. Plus, he gets to crack jokes with his boys.

Lee makes sense if all we want is a strong veteran presence who we're going to cut before Dec 23rd. We get leadership and he showcases what he can do on the court. Maybe helps him get a contract out there.
I love Barea and this move is best. Barea can start calling teams and attempt to get that last contract of his playing career. Hopefully, after he's done, he'll consider returning to Dallas where he played 11 of his 14 years.

Yeah all three should be on Mavs.com, but the links on Mavs.com often are raw feeds where you don't get commentary and all that.
Highly encourage people to watch the FSSW if you can, although that is certainly a fraught recommendation to be sure.
The weird thing too, is that preseason FSSW aren't picked up on League Pass most years. I think 1 of the last 5 years I was able to watch them via League Pass. I imagine that there will be some semi-legal links posted here, though, which I don't condone, but as the only mod, won't have time to delete.

I posted this in another thread also...
Ok so hope this helps anyone confused by what is available. I called ATT and was offered att tv for $59/month which includes FSSW. It does require you to sign for 24 months but if you already have Youtube TV ($69/mo) for example you are already paying more than that and will probably continue to have a monthly charge for TV beyond 2 years. This would save me $10 a month and I can also get an additional $10/month bundling because I have ATT phone service which would make it $49/mo. There is 14 day trial period to cancel.

I'll post my response in this thread too.
$50 a month just to watch my f*cking local team is absolutely ridiculous though. I was willing to pay that for Hulu live because of everything else it carries along with the NBA, but even that I thought was pretty outrageous for a streaming service, when everyone else charges like $15 a month. No thanks. I'm not paying ATT a f**ing penny.
This such bullsh*t.

I love how it's actually harder and more expensive to watch the Mavs in DFW than it is literally anywhere else on the f*cking planet.

Well it has many other channels but If you only want it for Mavs then yea, I fully agree. I hated hulu and went to YouTubetv which I liked until no fssw.
All this said, I had them deliver the device and after checking before hand 3 times and having the rep tell me unquestionably that it was included in the package, its not showing up on the guide. Now I'm waiting for them to get back to me on why. Wtf. What a mess. Cuban, lick my balls right alongside Sinclair. I don't mind changing services that would include fssw but this is not a good start.

And I don't watch all the games live because I can't stand commercials. I don't know how anyone can really dig into the games without rewind and record features. Such a joke ATM.

Giannis "not focused on the extension" (my Mavs fan interpretation: "I am not signing it right now, let's move on"). Giannis dream is still alive for Dallas - which is amazing to consider. So, this should be interesting. To have a chance at Giannis, he has to not sign the supermax by the 12-21 deadline. everything i am hearing, looks good from Mavs perspective. I am guessing, Giannis probably really wants to play w/ Luka. Hopefully, they won't trade him. Who goes farther this year - Bucks or Mavs? If Bucks fizzle out, and Mavs reach at least second round, that would bode well for us.

The dream is still alive indeed. He does seem to be dropping hints that he isn't going to sign yet. And remember all those reports a few weeks ago about how all signs pointed toward Giannis taking the supermax? Yeah, it's real quiet now...

I would suggest getting league pass single team monthly for 17.99 per month and a VPN. I have NordVPN at around 6 a month. You can get an IP in an area that is not blacked out.
That way if your favorite streaming service caves and gets FSSW you don’t lose the 120 for the year.
A word of caution, league pass has been known to deny access if you are using a VPN to avoid the blackout. Most VPN’s duplicate up addresses as they only have a limited number so if the NBA sees duplicate ip’s they can deny access. You can avoid this by buying a dedicated IP from the VPN provider.

And also, wait until January as all the Mavs games except on Dec 30 are on a national network.

Yep that's what I suggested...
The single team package pretty cheap. I have it connected with my XBOX Series X through sling TV.
Awesome inexpensive package.

Why do you need sling tv? There’s an nba app on the Xbox.

Man! I don't know about you but my confidence in this team is growing every day! These two games have shown that they can play very maturely.
My expectations about this season have grown a bunch!
Few points:
- Mavs traded for better defenders and got very solid shooters as a bonus.
- Josh Richardson and Luka chemistry is great!
- All the team in fact looks very cool. A bunch of mates having fun!
- Ever since Luka came to Dallas the office has been working hard to get people around him that fit, but what they got were also people who fit perfectly into Rick Carlisles style of coaching. This type of a team that has 2 all star caliber players and then a bunch of great role players that are all interchaneagable is a dream for Rick.
- In the next trading periods in 2021 Dallas will be a place to be because they'll be ripping the league apart!
- NBA has finally settled with Luka being the next face of the league.
Some of the points that in my opinion will make Dallas great again!
Thoughts?

Giannis signed the extension. Good, we will win multiple ships with our homegrown squad.

Still have tons of flexibility though. I’m glad we didn’t overpay for an older dude like Gallo or Covington or Hayward. Richardson is just as good and only cost us older, oft-injured Seth.
