League Pass is a one-time expense though.
I pay $120 once a year and it gives me all the Mavs games except the four Mavs-Suns and the national. Then I just borrow my dad's cable membership to watch the rest.
Get a VPN to make it look like you're in Phoenix and you'd get the same. International ones may be slower, but you can then get all 82 games.

Two great things about living in Houston, is I get to watch the Mavs on league pass and the Rockets games are blacked out. I’m struggling to come up with the third.

I just looked at the att now page to help out my aunt and uncle who are trying to figure out how to watch Thunder games this year, and from what I can tell, the package to get the sports nets is $180+ per month lol. What a disaster.

Nevermind, I got it. This is the same tired talk of people needing to "come to their senses" that we've heard for years. And yet, Sling dropped them years ago and never came back. Had nothing to do with Covid. And Hulu and Youtube are big enough to where they don't need it. Enough providers have dropped them that the onus is squarely on Sinclair for being unreasonable about pricing.
Why would these providers lock themselves into a ridiculous contract when Covid could still shut sports down at any moment? Hulu dropping them in late October means the knew the NBA was restarting soon.
But this is certainly a back track from the "plenty of options" nonsense we heard a couple days ago.

On the Mavericks’ TV broadcast situation...
Cuban: “Bally Sports, Sinclair, Fox Sports, they own the rights to broadcast the Dallas Mavericks’ games and video, regardless of platform. So it’s up to them to do what they think is right. We don’t have as many options as we used to, but with AT&T Now, people can stream it and can get an over-the-top provider. Honestly, I think YouTube TV and some of the others will come to their senses and realize in Dallas-Fort Worth, North Texas, you’ve got to carry the Mavs. From my perspective as a businessperson, I understood why they cut off the deal and didn’t renew because there were no games being played. But now that there are games being played and obviously it’s a big deal to a lot of people, and they’re hearing that from their customers, I think there’s a lot of incentive for them to fix that.”
How widespread is Fox Sports Southwest’s coverage being dumped?
Cuban: “It’s not just Fox Sports, it’s throughout the [regional sports networks], it’s not specific to Fox. It was more ‘look, there’s no games, why would we renew our contract? We’ll wait until there’s games being played.’ So now with games about to start, all those contracts are, hopefully, being renegotiated.”
On if he and other owners are involved with the broadcast negotiations...
Cuban: “There’s not a whole lot we can do, honestly. We’re talking to them and they’re telling me exactly what I convey to you. That they feel really strongly that those platforms are going to have to come around for all the reasons that you guys are hearing that fans want the games, period, end of story. And that’s not good for their business, particularly when you’ve got, particularly, Hulu saying ‘Hulu has live sports’ and now they don’t. So that’s really a strategic branding issue that they’re going to have to address. It’s great for AT&T Now, particularly their month-to-month. You can go and add AT&T Now and do the monthly with it and get the games — and actually, you can even wait a couple days because the first couple ones are ESPN and then TNT and then NBATV, so if you have them, you’re covered for the first three games and can buy some time.”

League pass and VPN
Preseason is almost here and no word on FSSW being carried on any network other than ATT NOW. If you use League Pass and a VPN you need to be aware that the NBA is using several methods to detect that you are using a VPN. The two most effective are duplicate IP’s and GPS. a techie friend told me they can see your gps location if you are using an IOS or Android device. And if you are on a VPN, the provider will assign the same ip as other users. So the best advice is to use a PC with a VPN and buy a dedicated IP.

Thanks. Mavs website shows the first preseason game is Mavs.com, but games 2 and 3 are on FSSW.
Game 1 7pm (12/12)
Game 2 7pm (12/14)
Game 3 7:30pm (12/17)

Patience
Before purchasing a VPN and League Pass, I would recommend waiting until the start of the season. If enough people complain to their provider they might renew FSSW contract.
Has anyone heard any news or rumors concerning this? I have sent a request to FSSW but haven’t heard back. The only way I found to contact Frontier is to call them and of course the reply was they are always negotiating but can’t commit to anything.

Nobody is going to complain to their providers about this, and it's not going to work either way. We're in the middle of a f'in pandemic where people are losing their jobs. Last thing they care about is whether Hulu or Youtube is streaming the Mavs.
This shit has been going on for years now since Sinclair took over. Squarely on them.

There are always links posted on this site.
Preseason will be on Mavs.com
Regular season I always run into a few links to watch. I don't post them, but it's not my job as a humble mod to delete them.

What's the incentive? Hulu, Youtube, and Frontier don't need it to stay alive. And Sling survives on low prices.
The ball is entirely in Sinclair's court. People keep saying that customers need to put pressure on their providers, but I think advertisers are the ones who need to put pressure on Sinclair.

"Hulu has live sports", except for your local teams...seems like incentive? That's kinda not a good slogan. Youtube just added 10$ a month for FN MTV in a forced move. No one who is old enough to be in charge of paying for TV service gives a Fk about MTV.
I am not disagreeing with you about Sinclair being the most responsible btw.

Unfortunately, most people are staying home because of Covid, so providers are raising their prices. As long as people are paying, then they can do it.
But that's what makes no sense about what Sinclar is doing. People are willing to pay to watch the Mavs. They should just develop their own streaming service for local sports. Really wouldn't be that difficult.

I don't think you can record, but while League Pass is active, you can skip to any part of the game. I usually start about 20-30 minutes late and that way when I come to a commercial, I can just skip ahead to when the broadcast comes back.
They also take 24 hours or so, but you can watch a VoD of old games. So Friday's game you can watch Sat night.

Ok so hope this helps anyone confused by what is available. I called ATT and was offered att tv for $59/month which includes FSSW. It does require you to sign for 24 months but if you already have Youtube TV ($69/mo) for example you are already paying more than that and will probably continue to have a monthly charge for TV beyond 2 years. This would save me $10 a month and I can also get an additional $10/month bundling because I have ATT phone service which would make it $49/mo. There is 14 day trial period to cancel.

$50 a month just to watch my f*cking local team is absolutely ridiculous though. I was willing to pay that for Hulu live because of everything else it carries along with the NBA, but even that I thought was pretty outrageous for a streaming service, when everyone else charges like $15 a month. No thanks. I'm not paying ATT a f**ing penny.

So their streaming service doesn't carry FSSW? I'm confused.
I bought a cheap firestick which I'm just going to jailbreak and have a VPN as well. Don't want to do that, but they forced our hands.
I'm not signing a contract with At&t.

Yeah I’m not interested in a 2 year contact with anyone. Pretty crazy to think I may not be able to watch the Mavs this season without streaming from a device. Ridiculous

It's hilarious that at a time when the NBA is in full-blown crisis mode over viewership, they've actually made it a lot harder to watch the games. I know it's Sinclair's fault more than the NBA's, but still, this is horsesh*t.

As far as the 2 year contract I don't mind if its about the same cost as the streaming service I currently use. I'll be using it way longer than 2 years anyway plus it locks in your rates, unlike YouTube TV which just recently and forcefully added $10 for mtv. I'm sure they will find another $10 channel everyone has to pay for that a handfull actually wanted.

I mean, viewership in north Dallas could be cut in half with the Frontier thing. Add in Hulu and Youtube and there is almost no doubt. A shocking failure in a time when they need fans.

League pass
League pass is available now. I am planning on getting a monthly single team pas for 17.99 a month if FrontierTV doesn’t cave by the season start. I already have NordVPN. That way if Frontier picks up FSSW again I won’t lose the 200 it costs for a full season. Let’s hope Sinclair and the various services come to an agreement!

Correction; single team annual pass is $119.99.

I'm intrigued. Is there a way to get live streams on FireTV?
I use Exodus a lot and it's great. Just haven't done live TV

Movies, tv shows, live sports streams, and live tv. It's not perfect and a little crude, but it beats 80 bucks a month. It's more or less just using a VPN to get the stuff like you'd do on a computer. This is for those who want it on TV without using a cable to their lap top.
