PGT: Mavs-Spurs
KP lookin' sharp. Three of his four games back have been really solid. Nice to see.

Guess there was no game day thread?
only caught bits of the 2nd half when they were already up 20+
and then the last 5 minutes or so when they couldn't really get a stop and basically had to play the starters til the end
Will need to review how KP was used
i did see one nice little pick and roll with THJ where KP did a short roll and had a FT line jumper
Another pick and roll with Luka ending in a KP dunk
defense at one point had 3 straight possessions with deflections
they seemed to be scrambling well and switching/helping well. Luka is terrible chasing guys on the perimeter - he just gets lazy and doesn't really try hard a lot of the time. But when switching onto a big down low he's at least a big body who won't get plowed over by most guys.
saw some stretches with KP and WCS out there together... interesting.
for the powell haters, his minutes were down to 16 tonight - not sure why - was he hurt? - his stat line looks good for those 16 minutes.

Ya you probably needed to watch more of the game - Luka was all over the passing lanes and had 3 consecutive steals in the 2nd half. Kidd didn't need to play the starters that long but I think he wanted them to keep working hard and play most of the game. He could have taken the guys out when they had a 20 point lead with 4 minutes left. Bottom line: The duo of Luka and KP were very good tonight. IF you get 60 plus points and 20 plus rebounds from the 2 of them combined you wont lose a lot of games. KP's shot chart looked like a Kirk Goldsberry special - a bunch of shots under the basket and a bunch of 3's. Not a lot of stupid midrange elbow shots.

Yeah the one mid range elbow shot kp made was a great look - the short roll I mentioned above. Ft line jumper off a pass and not some awkward fall away turn around crap.

Think it's safe to officially call Green a bust. We were up 20 with 4 minutes left which is primo garbage time. DNP.

Green has one chance left. This off-season he needs to do nothing but shoot. I can understand that his role with the Australian team limited his personal growth. Hopefully he’ll be a late bloomer like DFS.

Green has been down to the Texas Legends where he can still not be good at basketball.

I enjoyed this game but like I said the other night they would look awesome vs the Spurs
Most of us aren't worried about the Mavs vs the bottom feeders of the league.
It's the top tier/playoff teams that we keep seeing this team fall apart against mainly in the 2nd half's.
Hard to get excited because we've seen over the last two post season's how this team has got bounced out because of lack of playmakers and defense.
This next stretch of games is really important and I just hope the Mavs can play .500 basketball. If they wet their pants and go something 2-5 or 1-6 then the FO seriously needs to think about cutting ties even if they certain guys.

Actually, I think beating teams you're supposed to beat is progress. Doesn't mean they are contenders, but there is no free lunch in the NBA...ok unless you're playing the Pelicans or Rockets.
Key is who to trade and what to trade for.

Luka had 3 (sorta) steals in a row I think. Pop takes a timeout after a bone head turnover. They all take thr court after a timeout / commercial and Spurs turn the ball over 3 times in a row. Lolol
