Re-signing THJ will go down as one of the biggest FA blunders.
It's funny how the FO and media bootlickers trash Mavs Twitter left and right, but they have been right about this year's team from the get-go. I generally don't like Twitter, but facts are facts.

It's pretty sad when you think about it that they couldn't get a more balanced/consistent player with that money they decided to give THJ
Dude had 2 good playoff games to start that Clippers series and the Mavs paid him like a true 2nd or 3rd option

What was ESPN smoking
Dallas Mavericks are all over the map in week 7 power rankings
ESPN moved the Mavs up to ninth in their weekly power rankings, despite Dallas winning just one of their three games. They were the only ones to have Dallas in the top ten with Hoops Habit placing them 12th, and they are 17th in The Athletic’s power rankings (subscription required). The Mavericks are a playoff team that must perform better moving forward.

Used to think the Pelicans game was going to be out next win. Now they’re wrecking the Clippers and Mavs could be playing the worst of any NBA team
I guess the bright side is that we own our 2022 pick

Watched about 3 minutes of the game in the second quarter and never went back.
Unfortunately Cuban is dug in, and will do the opposite of anything Twitter complains about. He’ll keep saying Twitter isn’t real life, yet the fans on there are about 90% right in regards to roster.

Truly depressing that we might have to tank for that pick because we have so few assets.
And I'm sure we'll pick a real doozy at 13.

Why do you think the Knicks aren't playing Kemba anymore? He's done. He's been so bad they've decided to roll with Alec Burks and Immanuel Quickley at point guard. Quickley is solid but he's not even starting. It's not like they just moved Kemba to the bench, he's been so bad they can't even play him at all. Why would we want to trade for that?

Been telling anyone that Bullock sucks.
We gave THJ a raise. Lololol. Stupid fn move.
This team is ripe for a trade or 2 but it won't happen and we will continue this slow slide down and out of relevance. And Mark Cuban will be the stubborn Captain
THJ, Bullock, Powell, Wcs, Green. Get em all outta hurr

As I have been saying for a long time this team is Luka and a full roster of replacement level players. By definition you could reshuffle the entire deck sans Luka and have a coin flip chance of landing on a better team. As Kirk Henderson said on Mavs Group Therapy greenroom last night - WE NEED BETTER PLAYERS!!!

We just are not talented enough. Maybe we get hot and win a few games on the back of above average shooting from our role players, but overall we just aren’t that good. Unfortunately, Luka makes us just good enough to not get a good pick.

And it's a toss up if we blow the good pick or not.
We aren't good enough...sums it up

Speaking of unplayable, Bullock was 0-3 and isn't playing the defense promised. Kemba has one less year on his contract as well and could at least play PG in a pinch.
If you have another way to get rid of provides nothing Bullock, then I'm all ears.

THJ got paid and decided to take the 1st 20 games of the season off

Wife went with a friend on free tickets, said the place was pretty empty. It's the Cavs on a Monday night, but I don't buy the sell out talk from ownership and suits.

I mean think about it how long have the Mavs gone without a legit center or secondary ball handler?
He's decided that the only guys he want in the locker room are the guys that the Mavs have developed and molded into good locker room guys or FA's who are low budget players with a good soldier attitude off the floor.
He ain't taking no risk on guys like a Nick Van Exel, Monte Ellis, Deshawn Stephenson's anymore. He's been trying to get buy and save his money by using duck tape.
The man basically came out and said right after that Clippers series that his team needs a big secondary ball handler. Yet he proceeds to make resigning THJ his top priority and then throw darts at guys Bullock and Brown the same way he did with Josh Richardson and Delon Wright the previous two years.
I hate to say it but it might be time for Cuban to sale the team or relinquish 100% GM responsibility to someone else.

This has been obvious for years. Cuban has lived off his "billionaire" label for years while shortchanging the team. It's not going to happen. SSDD just like JJ and the Cowboys.

Luka took Rick Carlisle and his team of replacement level players to game 7 scoring 40 plus points a game. I think you mixed up correlation with causation.

Our problems are actually much bigger than a center or secondary ball handler though. The entire roster is being asked too much of them outside of Luka and KP. They just aren't good enough.
What we've done is prioritize bench players that you can relatively easily replace in a pinch versus trying to get actual talent.
My plan is to trade THJ/Brunson/DFS picks for as good of a third talent as you can get. Fill out the roster at a later date. This isn't something that is going to happen over night, but the entire FO philosophy has been backwards thinking.

The Rick took us to 7 games against the Clippers stuff doesn't prove anything because we still exited in the first round.
We need a roster overhaul, plain and simple. Kidd might not be a great coach, but he can't work wizardy with this. And he has done quite well with KP, Brunson, and Frank.

Something along those lines. We have Carlik Jones in the wings. So losing Brunson would take a bit of a hit but in order to get a fn basketball player as a 2nd or 3rd option instead of a streaky $20mil 1 trick pony seems logical., in theory.
Cuban is the king of sunk cost. Crypto boy has to milk every investment, except he forgets to sell high.

Yes, Luka Doncic's on/off splits this season are stunning.
The Mavs have been outscored by 110 points with Doncic on the floor this season.
The only player in the NBA on a winning team with a worse plus/minus is Kemba Walker (-122)

Those Luka stats are suspect at best, but a fair assessment is the fact that he never comes into the season in shape. That gets a lot of push back by some fans, but the eyes don't lie. And the fact that he is lazy as hell with making those free throws doesn't help. I personally don't believe FT making is anything but discipline.
Still, Luka is the least of our worries.

On/off worst stats in sports. Playing a bulk of minutes with Powell doesn't help. Also his +/- would look remarkably different if the guys he plays with hit their open shots he sets them up for.
How dis the Mavs org not show any interest in Anthony Caruso during FA.
