Luka's weight gain in Big Mac equivalency
Luka's weight gain (30 lb.) above his in-shape weight is the equivalent of 187 Big Macs above maintenance calorie level. He could get back into great shape simply fasting every other day for 3 or 4 weeks.

Is the impossible burger any lower in calories than a regular burger?

Started doing fasting first two, now three times per week. I feel absolutely amazing on my fasting days, my blood pressure is 118/75-120/80 pulse 68-70 bpm (I was diagnosed with high blood pressure late last year). I also have mild gastro problems which are basically disappear on fast days, and come back when I eat something unhealthy the next day. Not sure if it's feasible for an athlete during season, but for a home office guy like myself it's an amazing tool. I might get back into shape by the summer if I can keep this up (was doing sports most of my life but really messed up my early 30's in the last couple of years).

Where was it published he came in overweight, to the tune of 30 lbs even? I saw you draw this out in another thread but seems to be hyperbole. Source please, and even then, def doesn't look like 30 lbs...
Again, take a breath, dude.

Bet my house hes not 30 pounds over what hes roughly been in his nba career. I dont know why this number keeps coming up based on something TM said.
He also didnt specify that its Lukas current weight. Which again, Id bet my house hes not 30 pounds over what hes roughly been in his nba career.

It is what Tim McMahon said on the Lowe Post podcast - he came into camp at 260 and the expectation was he would come in at 230. Having said that I still think Luka is the least of their problems. Nobody in the NBA creates more quality assist attempts per game than a heavy Luka and no group of teammates collectively miss more wide open shots.

Good story. I agree. You almost get a euphoric feeling on fast days.

Do you drink alcohol? I also have high BP and gastro problems. Both have tanked since I quit drinking. It's funny how many people don't realize that alcohol is actually just us poisoning our bodies.
I haven't tried fasting yet, but I have tried a few meal replacement products. I also run 2 miles a day which is excellent for blood pressure and many other ailments.

I feel like the quality people we have in Mavs media would have picked up on this and the story would have bigger if Luka was....well, bigger. Bobby, Callie, etc. this tidbit from Tim is rumor mill at best and gossip or grasping for something to make a story at worst.
Luka looked and looks like Luka lol we aren't dealing with Zion here. I think the nagging injuries haven't helped either. And as someone said, he's far from a problem for this squad.

I said that lol. He is the least of their concerns. Having said that he did acknowledge himself that he could come to camp in better shape. Bubble Luka was optimal conditioned Luka and definitely leaner than end of 2021 Luka.

I think we agree here. Don't get me wrong, he could be in better shape and I think that will come quickly. This next offseason is key since it will be less busy and he won't have an excuse to come into camp anything other than ready for the NBA. A singular focus after a hectic previous offseason.
