Didn?t realize DP lead the team in rebounds. Figured McGee or Wood would be brought in when you need a rebound, but whatever. Take the W

Who does the game hall go to?
Green for an absolutely stellar run of defense and scoring
Or
Good Luka that destroyed them in the middle of the game?
Beginning and end Luka were godawful

Whew, Mavs win! Also, glad to see Green playing good and DFS driving the ball to the basket more.

There should never be a game where they have 22 turnovers. Never. Just a lack of focus and basketball IQ. They shit the bed and was lucky to get the W. DFS had two dumb mistakes in the final minute, but the two FTs he made was huge.

What a brutal end.
If the Nets didn?t suck so bad Mavs would?ve lost.
Jalen was the crunch time stabilizer. Other guys are having to fill that dribbling role and pushing the ball up the floor. Got to get that figured out going forward.
But 6-3. Your record is your record.

One made Ft by Luka from 7-2
One better substitution and we?d be 8-1
The team is winning and barely losing when we do
With only three preseason games and some major additions and subtractions, the first 20-40 games are our adjustment period. Just gotta tread water until it clicks. We?re seeing some good things. We?re just seeing major growing pains that allow 10+ pt runs at awful times and a lot of poor starts

As much as I?ll be criticizing Kidd, it?s great they are quick to yank McGee, who has hurting us big time to start the season

Wtf with these wet courts? Really thought THJ was playing well this season too despite his poor shooting. Was finally doing positive team things. Shame.

We won with 22 turnovers. The defense and recovering back to the open man was intense enough to get it done.
Green getting all those Bullock mins was a huge factor. He made some good plays on both ends and remained confident. He was great but Luka gets game ball IMO.

I'm done complaining about the 2020 draft. Bane would be nice, but Green is coming into his own, and brings a level of athleticism and hustle that is unmatched in the league.

Yea, Bane would have been nice but that ship has sailed. Green is balling right now. Forcing coaches hand to give mins.
It was a huge sign that he left him in late in an intense game like that.

i'd like to think Kidd is still taking the first portion of the season to tinker and figure out what works. I agree that even if he keeps starting Mcgee, that he's been quick to pull him and has already reduced his minutes substantially. I still think Mcgee has a role for the team. The bigger issue is figuring out how/where/when to play Wood.

It was never as bad as the 2019 FA, but I still think passing on Bey was of monumental stupidity. Bane fell and lots of teams passed on him, but passing on Bey was such a Mav thing to do.
Glad Green is playing well now. Hope he can keep it up. Confidence is key.
I'm also wondering if Hardy might get a chance this season with all of the injuries. Frank is never healthy, and Campu just isn't good.

Good and bad news from the injury front.
THJ is questionable vs Orlando but Wood didn't make the trip with a left knee sprain.

I haven't watched many pistons games but are we sure Bey is significantly better than Green? My impression is that Green has more potential as a defender and he's 2 years younger. Bey has also had the benefit of getting a ton of minutes on a bad teams the past 2 years.
Anyway, I'm happy with Green and hope he keeps improving.

Bane really was a miss and he even had the local angle
Bey? Dude is overrated. Defense is bad and he?s shooting 34% from three and low efficiency all around. The 17ppg is because he?s allowed all the shots he wants

Hot take: we should rethink the starting lineup
Not for Wood but for Green

I would hope that the Mavs DON'T start Green for another 20 or so games. Let him build confidence in THIS role before giving him a new one

Bey is super overrated. Maxey and Bane are clearly superior offensive players, but Green has DPOY level athleticism and hustle, and could end up not only being the best fit, but having the best career.

I'm highly skeptical of that, but MAN I hope that's what happens. God knows the Mavs have no luck with free agents, and we have few trade assets, so we really need our draft picks to pan out if we're going to have any hope of building a real contender around Luka.

I'm sayin... That is no hot take. Green in Bullock out. Swap those mins out until Reggies 1 trick pony rides in. Then re-evaluate later if necessary.

It's weird to me that there's so much 2nd guessing of the 2020 draft when we actually got a good player. What about the DSJ draft or all the other drafts where we completely whiffed? I like Josh cause he does all the little things and it seems like his shot is improving. He could be one of those guys that keeps getting better every year and ends up being a perfect role player alongside Luka.

Because you could easily argue that Bane gets us a ring last year. He is that good.
I'm glad Green is playing well, but let's not live in la la land like this hasn't been going at a snail's pace. Can't keep babying the kid into confidence. Still need to see a lot more on the offensive end. I'm optimistic.

But you could almost do that every draft. What if they had drafted Giannis instead of trading down for Shane Larkin? You hardly ever get the best player available when you draft, the numbers are against you.
I agree they should develop him faster. I think they should get him 30 minutes a game and see what we got.

That player would have been sent to New York in the Porzingis deal so it really doesn't matter
