GDT (game 37): Mavs (20-16) at Spurs (12-23)
yawn... is it halftime already?
Luka with 30 already in the first half
Mavs a scorching 57.4% from the field, but the Spurs are en fuego at 62.8% from the field.
Awesome defense guys...
Let's go Mavs!

Luka currently 36
Wood with 22
Getting increasingly annoyed Wood hasn?t been offered the extension yet.

Happy New Years guys! Love you all. We are watching basketball genius. I feel like we are a Center away from really putting a hurt on the league. If we manage to get a 2nd superstar next to Luka it's a wrap.
What a month of December. Happy end of 2022 everyone!

At first, I thought Sean Elliot was joking when he said the Mavs had the worst rebounding team in the NBA
And sure, enough it's true they rank last in the NBA in defensive rebounding.
But MMB pointed this out
With the active players Dallas has, defense is more of an idea than something they?re able to execute, even against the Spurs. Which it would be great if anyone could actually get a rebound for the Mavericks, one thing Dallas has controlled over this winning streak is turnovers. Dallas turns the ball over at just 12.6 times per game, good for second lowest in the league. Over this six game win streak, Dallas is averaging just 10 turnovers a game, including just five against the Spurs. Doncic had no turnovers!
If a team?s not able to defend or rebound, at least they aren?t giving the ball away for free.

Rebounding has always been our achilles heel since I can remember. Seems to be the one thing we can't overcome.

Cuban legitimately doesn?t believe in paying for rebounding centers. As you said, as long as I can remember.

It?s fun to bask in the basketball god that is Luka. But it?s getting alarming too, and knowing he?s going to wear down before playoffs.

Feel like these boards have written the holy gospel on that point.
Yet somehow, the dude seems destined to be in god mode.

He paid the most he was able to (MLE) for a rebounding center that was top 13 in the league last year in rebound rate
He?s just unplayable here for some reason

So weird. I saw McGee is wearing a back brace much more often. Is something going on health wise?

Lol at top 13 rebound rate, he?s been playing 14 mpg on true contending teams grabbing 6 boards last two seasons. there?s absolutely no reason to believe that would extrapolate to a starting role being the primary rebounder at his age.

I feel like if he was even somewhere in the middle, then we'd at least have contribution.
He is just awful now. Like how do you go from the perfect backup center on a contender to nothing?
