GDT: Jazz at Mavs 7:30
Do I care enough to make a GDT? I guess maybe so.
Mavs are 2-5 over the last seven games and on pace for the 5th pick in the NBA draft at .286.
A loss puts Kidd more and more on the hotseat for real change.
A win doesn't really do anything and may actually help Kidd stay.
Go Mavs.
Injuries
Out - Green, Kleber
Questionable - THJ, Kyrie, GWill

updated projections has the mavs at 41 wins. Thats exactly where I would put them, and thats not enough for kidd to keep his job (even in the eyes of cuban)

Me too, but the semi-good news is we really only need a backup center and a defensive wing to be right back in it. I know those don't grow on trees, but we're more good than bad right now.
Team dynamic doesn't concern me as much as the goblin king coach.
This should be an easy win tonight without excuses.

I mean I like Luka hitting threes, but the offense is so stagnant. It even took a crazy crossover-stepback and those wont fall all game.

This defense is a catastrophe
Team that struggles to score at 25th in the NBA is allowed open shot after open shot after layup.
8-10 shooting (80%) and 60% from three

Jason Kidd is the problem. I don't know how many more times it has to be repeated.

I love OMax.
He's wide open but Luka takes the shot through contact. Makes it for the and-one.
OMax just laughs and mouths, "how he do that"

It's really weird that he is starting over Kessler. Kessler has strangely not made any progress this season.

What happened to Collin Sexton? Talk about a fall from grace.

Exum was such a great pick up, and people here won?t want to hear it, but Kidd might be good for his development.

And Kidd can easily screw Lively's career down the road. Just look at Kessler coming off the bench for the Jazz.
But, you can't argue with a 50 point win when all engines are hot. Scoring isn't something the team needs to work on.

dante going to spain and serbia is what helped his development, not kidd. its a great pickup from the mavs to recognize his growth though.

I will say that I'm fully ready to move on from Josh Green. That extension was really stupid. He just has an awkward game that never flows well especially with Luka. We have too many guys that can easily fill his position.

Yep, the one time it made sense to wait until the trade deadline (not Brunson).
Add Hardy to the list as well if we can get back something good. He just hasnt made the jump I was expecting.

I'm down for moving Hardy too, but he at least provides instant offense if you need it. (we obviously don't right now.)
Green takes seemingly the entire game to contribute something. His defense is what is overrated and that's the death knell for me.

Im on board with moving Hardy and Green as well. I held out hope for those 2, but we need a PF.

I think Green could be something. I just don't think it will be here. He has no chemistry with Luka and Luka is always going to have astronomical usage rates.
Hardy? I think he is made to be a volume scorer and he's never going to be that next to Luka and Kyrie. He could be the sparkplug scorer, but it seems like he comes out cold and works himself into a rhythm. That's just not a good fit here. We need him hitting his shots immediately off the bench.

Yea. If you could combine Hardy and Green into one player, you might have an all star player in a cpl years. A coach with a young team and low expectations who could afford to give them a ton of mins would have a good chance to maximize their potential. We arent that team and we need a PF.

I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking this. It boggled my mind how excited people seemed about signing him to a new contract.
