That's how they've set up their defense. To stop that at all costs.

They are probably converging somehow into the paint and onto the roller. And also being aggressive and making fouls to prevent any single dunk by either one of the Mavs' big men.
It looks like that the Suns are just ALL CONVERGING INTO THE PAINT. So that the whole defensive unit gets a bit closer to the paint and thereby closing down the space in the middle. That's an interesting strategy and different from ANY ONE defensive player making a switch.
