Then they showed his dad on tv
That's what happens when you play for a coach notorious for running players into the ground.

sad for JB - he had such a great playoff run

Denver seems like they kinda checked out around the 4 min mark. I think I would have preferred to play Denver. Minnesota just has so much length.

Unbelievable. Fucking Pacers going to lose this in OT. That really what they drew up? How do you have 2 boneheaded turnovers in the last 20 seconds like that?

Rick not fouling with 8.5 seconds shows me why I'm so happy he isn't our coach anymore. That's a huge blunder.

You're up 3 with 8.5 seconds left in regular against the best shooting team in the NBA. You foul every time. Apparently he made a similar mistake against Mil.
People clamor what a great Xs and Os guy he is, but that is simply inexcusable.

Big mistake was not taking a timeout on that inbound that they turned it over. They could have advanced the ball had they done that.
Siakam was late getting to Brown on his game tying 3. I guess I kinda get not fouling there because you either give him 3 shots, or even worse a 4 point play opportunity.

The Pacers actually did try to foul on that play. Siakam was late because he got screened. Still it was a difficult shot.

Joe Mazzulla makes clever move to propel Celtics Game 1 comeback
With Indiana nursing a 3-point lead and eight seconds left in regulation, fouling is the usual play to ensure a team does not have a chance to tie the game with one shot.
Rick Carlisle confirmed after the loss that was the Pacers? intention on the play. However, Joe Mazzulla used a bit of craftiness to force the Pacers and Pascal Siakam into a bind. Jaylen Brown set a screen and then had a delayed one set for him by Derrick White as he curled into the corner. Jrue Holiday found him with the pass after a slight delay on the inbounds and that left Siakam in a tough situation with Brown already entering his gather in the corner.
It was a very well-executed play by the guys to create kind of indecision, Mazzulla said. We were maintaining. I thought D-White set a great screen, I thought Jaylen had great balance. Great pass, great shot. So just a well-executed play by the guys. Good situational awareness, and good execution.

Man, I just can't help but think that the Mavs could beat this Celtics team. I'm not saying they would be favorites or anything, but in some ways the Celtics scare me less than the Wolves do. I'm just crossing my fingers that we get past the Wolves. Because the Mavs winning the title this year is not at all crazy. Maybe not probable, but definitely not crazy either.

Oof, Haliburton out of the rest of the game. Stick a fork in the Pacers. On top of choking away game 1, they blew opportunity after opportunity to pull ahead in this game. Every time they would pull close, they would give up an easy layup or an open 3 at the other end.
And yet they were still hanging with the Celtics until about halfway through the 4th, in addition to the fact that they absolutely should have won game 1.
And the Pacers don't have anyone half as good as Luka. Hell, I don't know that they have anyone as good as Kyrie.
Please, PLEASE, basketball gods, let the Mavs get past the Wolves and face this Celtics team.

Seriously, here's hoping. We don't want the Mavs to have a brutal 6-7 game series and then have to go up against the Celtics coming off of a breezy cakewalk.
On that note... holy fucking shit, we're actually talking about the Mavs making the finals. I know it's far from a done deal, but the odds are heavily in our favor.

My god, it's unreal. They should be up 2-1 right now. I'm soooooooooooo glad we parted ways with Carlisle.
And again, these Celtics just don't scare me. ESPECIALLY if Porzingis is out. If Porzingis is out, I might even go as far as to call the Mavs favorites.
