NELSON ALERT!!!NELSON ALERT!!!NELSON ALERT!!!
Holy crap, a Nelson sighting.
From today's Startle-gram:
Quote:
Don Nelson, the coach and general manager of the Mavericks, said he and his management team desperately tried to find a way to get involved in the trade so they could acquire Miller.
"We were in the heat of the battle for Brad Miller," Nelson said from his off-season home in Maui. "But every deal has its periods where you think it's going to happen and then it's not going to happen, and this one didn't work out."
Nelson wouldn't say which players the Mavericks were offering as trade bait, but did acknowledge that the Pacers -- with a keen eye toward staying below the NBA's luxury-tax threshold -- were not interested in taking back large salaries.
