"Outside the Box" Solutions to Mavs Ills
Let's see... the Mavs are over the cap.. they have little to trade (in the way of moveable contracts) outside of the "Big 5" and they need a big man, some toughness, defense...
How can they get this done... hmm... let's see...
Dallas trades: PG Travis Best (3.1 ppg, 0.3 rpg, 1.8 apg in 10.8 minutes)
PG Tony Delk (6.2 ppg, 2.3 rpg, 0.8 apg in 16.8 minutes)
Change in team outlook: -6.2 ppg, -2.3 rpg, and -0.8 apg.
Dallas trades: C Flozel Adams (0 ppg, 0 rpg, 0 apg in 0 minutes)
GF Roy Williams (0 ppg, 0 rpg, 0 apg in 0 minutes)
Change in team outlook: -23 carries, -90 yards, -3 receptions, -21 yards, -3 int, -4 sacks
TRADE ACCEPTED
At 6' 7" Adams is another undersized center but he would be among the best in the game at setting screens and blocking out. He's 357 pounds so he could body up to Shaq... Roy Williams is a pro-bowl defensive stopper. He's the intimidator inside we need... who will make sure opposing guards pay if they try to take it to the rack. You want to end the layup drills? Williams is our man.
Delk & Best immediately become the one-two punch at tailback Parcells needs.

RE:"Outside the Box" Solutions to Mavs Ills
Dallas trades: PF Danny Fortson (3.6 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 0.2 apg in 12.4 minutes)
Los Angeles trades: C Lisa Leslie (16.9 ppg, 10.4 rpg, 2.9 bpg, 46.6 FG percentage)
TRADE ACCEPTED
Nancy Lieberman on Lisa Leslie: She is the best post in the world and continuously redefines what the position means. She's the consummate pro, so skilled and mentally tough. And just when you think you might be closing the gap, she just gets better. Leslie, who continually impresses us with her undying desire to improve her game, also is incredibly versatile, with the ability to play the 5 or even the 3.
Forston would dominate by using his girth & height ADVANTAGE in the WNBA.

LOL....
I think Leslie >might< get more playing time than Bradley.
But I take exception to the Williams trade.... I think it would take one of the Big 3 to get him.

At 7'4" and 500 pounds, Andre the Giant could be the answer. We have an open roster spot and I think he is a free agent.

There is a species of bipedal primate weighing up to 800 pounds and standing as tall as eight feet and known as Sasquatch. If nothing else we could probably train one to block shots. And imagine if he developed a little baby hook shot!!

how about this one?
Dallas-Mavs.com trades V and some server space to kingsfans.com for cardboard cut-outs of Miller and Divac.
DM.com trades cardboard cut-outs to Mavericks for a T-shirt and some plugs on the radio

Unbieleveable, Fuzz!! How about next time I want your monkey-brained opinion I'll rattle your cage.
That trade would never work. I'd explain it to you, but I left my crayons in my other jacket.

EDIT: THE INSULT ABOVE IS INTENDED AS A JOKE EVOCATIVE OF THE SARCASTIC NATURE OF THIS THREAD. When you see a post by V, you will note that you are likely reading one of my controversial opinions. These opinions are strictly my own and are not meant to inflame or insult but merely to inspire spirited debate. My opinions are not those of either the good folks at Dallas-Mavs.com nor of the Dallas Mavericks.

The incredible Hulk. If there ever was an enforcer... he could "really" shut down the middle.
Or if he´s not available:
Thing. Maybe he could also talk his friends into playing for the Mavs.
