Default Movable pieces

Instead of waiting for Shaq deal to materialize, I would like to see if Mavs can move around some of the other pieces on this club.

Najera
Fortson
Delk

What kind of non-splashy deals can be put together for these that would get us better return for the roster spots/salary?

Najera/Delk could bring someone making about $7.0 MM or so (Najera makes $3.8 and Delk $3.1 this year).

Fortson makes about $5.9 this year.

Assume Daniels signed for most or all of MLE, could you do a Najera for Ostertag S&T with Utah?

Would Boston be interested in Fortson for Blount S&T?

Fortson/Najera/Delk to Knicks for Nazr and Shandon?

Things like that. Ideas?

Default RE:Movable pieces

I don't think we can get back a center better than Bradley or Laettner or Fortson for any of these guys (Najera/Delk/Fortson) or any combination of them or anything else better than what we've already got.

It's the problem with being close to, but not at, the top. Improvements get more and more difficult.

The main use of Najera/Delk/Fortson in a trade situation is to match salaries in a deal where we give away a talented but still cheap player (Howard or Harris for example) and take back a more expensive player who can help us at center. Maybe for Dampier, or Chandler or Ilgauskas or whatever
