Mavs/Warriors/Lakers 3-way
Here's a stab at landing Shaq. I'm pretty sure the salaries could work depending on what guys sign for:
Dallas trades: Toine, L8, Nash, Delk (2nd rounder?, JHo?)
Dallas receives: Shaq, Fish, Avery
GS trades: Dampier
GS receives: Payton, L8 (2nd rounder?)
LA trades: Shaq, Fish, Payton
LA receives: Toine, Damp, Nash, Delk (JHo?)
Dallas roster after the trade:
Fisher/Harris/Avery
Quis/Stack/Jon
Fin/JHo/TAW
Dirk/Fort/Najera
Shaq/Bradley/Pod
GS gets a future hall of fame pg and frontcourt help for Damp without sacrificing cap space in the future.
Lakers get two recent all-stars and the best possible replacement center.
Mavs might have to sweeten the pot for GS and LA by throwing in JHo and/or a second rounder.
I have a hunch Indiana (or Memphis) could make a better offer for Dampier if they're so inclined, so even if they're not players for Shaq per se I could still see them being our biggest competition in landing him for that reason, but if the Lakers really get desperate to unload O'Neal and nobody comes calling with a better offer for Damp...
Thoughts?

I still think that we're better off getting Dampier and keeping Nash and Howard than getting Shaq and giving up those two. Maybe it's just me.....

Its a good trade,we get rid of 20 mil of scrubs, and trade Nash for Shaq.
We re-establish our PG position, though not as good as it would be with Nash but we still get the player that would COMPLETELY solve our interior defense and offense problems, something much tougher to find than a PG,even one as good as Nash.
The line-up is good,we'll have a good rotation, though i would give the best PG in the draft a spot before Fisher,at least at the start,to see how he's performing...
Besides,LA couldn't ask for a sweater deal than that, they have 2 all-stars who aren't on Kobe' spots, and maybe the best next Center after Shaq.
GS gets what they wanted for a long time,a quality PG,and a nice player to come off the bench(well at least for them).

Cuban posse,
what are you three. Walk, Nash, Delk, Christian and filler isn't too much. Shaq is the most dominant force in the game. I give up every thing except Dirk to get him.
Stvy13,
Stop being such a homer that it blinds you to getting the mmost domnant force in the game.

is it wrong to giggle everytime a "three way" trade is mentioned?

Nothing wrong with it at all, Sike. Happens all the time with people who've never been in a three way...trade.

RE:Mavs/Warriors/Lakers 3-way
Grnd: I heard some rumblings a couple of days ago that the Pacers have a strong interest in Dampier and that they already know who Mullins wants in return for doing a S&T.
Add to that what Dampier has supposedly told someof his buddies about wanting to go to the East.
Pacers can afford to let a couple of their players they want to get rid of anyway (Harrington and/or Bender +filler) for Dampier, pushing Jermaine over to PF. That would make them tough defensively if they hold onto Artest.

It would be kinda funny if Dampier was traded BACK to Indiana by Chris Mullin because he was traded from Indiana to GS FOR Chris Mullin.
