Default saw this on the warriors message board
would you pull the trigger on a van exel/dampier for nash/stackhouse/laettner/#1?

PE not sure if this is possible if nash resigns at 10M starting, but what does everyone think?

We can't trade another #1 (I don't think.)

That trade looks like something from a GS message board - b/c they're getting a steal...

a) it's a foregone conclusion that they will lose Damp
b) they want to lose NVE

so b/c we're so happy to accomodate them we give them:

a) our starting PG- who is one of the top 5 at his position in the NBA.
b) a number 1 pic
c) an expiring contract
d) and a decent (one-time allstar) player in Stackhouse?

I assume that the Mavs can work something else out with the number 1. We traded away next year's for Pavel. So we can't include the following year because of the two year thing.

I probably wouldn't do that deal, though. Van Exel is shot. The thought of getting Dampier is intriguing. But I wouldn't give Nash up for him. Because he is not a "sure thing." Unlike Shaq. (The closest thing to a sur thing in the NBA in regards to a big man.)

I think it's not a bad deal...but what do the Mavs do with Walker then?

I guess you could go back to that Chicago deal for Chandler but will the Bulls be interested in him at that point?
