Default Kerry would have invaded Iraq, knowing what he knows now

Responding to President Bush (news - web sites)'s question with several of his own, Sen. John Kerry (news - web sites) said Monday he would have voted to authorize the war in Iraq (news - web sites) knowing what he does now, but added that he would have used the power more effectively than the current commander in chief.

The Democratic presidential nominee said he hoped to begin reducing the number of U.S. forces in Iraq within six months of taking office if he is elected. "It is an appropriate goal to have," he said, but added that achieving it would depend on broader international assistance, better stability within Iraq and other related factors.

I applaud Kerry for finally taking a stand on this one point. Hope that he sticks to it. However, his questions for Bush are a bunch of meaningless drival. Likewise Kerry's plans are vague and without substance. Bush had one of the most detailed and yet still flexible plans that I've ever heard of. The scale and levels of contingencies amaze me. However to think that it is perfect would be stupid. But to think that it could be easily topped would be even more stupid. If Kerry thinks that he can do better, then why not put his money where his mouth is so to speak and produce a detailed plan? Probably because he's just speaking out of his ass as usual.

Ok...It's time to come to jesus for the lefties on the board. Your man has just said that not only was bush justified in overthrowing Sadaam but that even if he KNEW WMD's were not in Iraq he still would have voted to overthrow him. Therefore he does not believe that "Bush lied people died", nor does he believe the idiotic canard "blood for oil", "war for the saudi's" and all the rest of the goobledygook from the maggot moore.

Good for Kerry, it's the first sign that a serious party might one day arise from the dems..However....It certainly requires a re-assessment of your support for Kerry and the dem's, does it not? Or does it. Let's hear it dems...

Inquiring minds want to know.

Truly, I'm confused now about where Kerry stands on the war.

I believe that he has misled both his opponents and the opponents of his opponents, as well as his supporters, the supporters of his supporters, the opponents of his supporters and the supporters of his oppoents' supporters (reminiscent of the old SNL parody of Jimmy Carter talking about "...our good friend the Shah, and our good friends the enemuhs of the Shah....").

The true questions are not only what did Kerry know and when did he know it, but also what, if anything, did he say and to whom, if to anyone, did he say it; and when, if ever, will he keep his story straight?
