The division has a record above .500. The last time I checked, that is not 'inept' for a division.

yuck? What the hell are you talking about? The southwest is arguably the best division in the NBA.

other than New Orleans who made the playoffs last year, I expect all of those teams to be in playoff contention.

Do you mean on paper? Yes, on paper the SW division is the best.

In actuality, the NW division has the best record and SW is about the same with Pacific.
Maybe I mis-used the word "inept". What I meant is that the SW is thought to be the best division in the league but the record seems otherwise.

Of course, like I said, it's early in the season. But I think overrating Houston and Memphis is why many people (especially the media) think SW is so tough.
