Damn, took my truck in to get it inspected today and those damn bastards wouldn't pass it [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-mad.gif[/img] . Want to know why? The tint on the windows was too dark [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-disgusted.gif[/img] . I've had that damn truck about 8 years and that's the first time they've said anything. They never had a problem with 'em before. Now it looks stupid without tinted windows [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img] .

Crap man what % is your tint?? Now I'm worried..I have 20% all around on my bimmer and am afraid it won't pass inspection next year (it was a pain just getting the tint guy to agree to do it that dark..had to pay an extra freakin $40..plus it looks like shit on my rear window so I have to get it redone). I was thinking of just slipping the guy a 10 or something to let it slide [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

20% will pass. They said it has to be 20% or higher to pass. They said mine was 13% [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img] .

20% will pass? I know it's illegal in Texas to have your front windows at 20% (must be 35% or lighter) so that's why I'm worried. I'm just so pissed I paid $200 to have five windows (two tiny ones) tinted, the rear looks like a piece of shit (damn bimmer coupes have this weird matrix along the top and sides that doesn't stick too well to the tint), and now I'm afraid I'll have to take it off in a year to pass inspection.

Take it to another place and it will ilkely pass. That's one of the rubs with inspection stations.
