for anyone with the PSP...
should I get Wipeout Pure or Ridge Racer? this is a life-altering decision.

I'm going to pickup Wipeout when I get lunch...I got a 15 dollar rebate, so it's 20 bucks. score.
is the soundtrack as good as the old playstation ones? Wipeout XL still has my favorite game soundtrack ever

RE: for anyone with the PSP...
I have a PSP and I dont have a game yet. I just got a 1gb flash memory card for it, and I absolutely adore it.
Gamerankings.com is a good source for advice...they compare dozens of reviews from magazines
Lumines got a 90.5% on gamerankings (average of 15 reviews)
Wipeout Pure got a 90.4% on gamerankings (18 reviews)
Ridge Racer got an 88.2% (16reviews)
THUG2 got an 87.4% (14reviews)
Twisted Metal: Head-On got an 84.7% (15 reviews)
and I'd stay away from the rest as they'll probably drop in price very quickly.

everyone be sure to return to this thread when their PSP's start malfunctioning.
... well, maybe I'm just being negative.
Afterall, Sony would never rush a flawed product to the marketplace...

RE: for anyone with the PSP...
I used to love games like Diablo so I picked up Untold Legends..loving it so far! Haven't really played any games in the last couple years though so I have very little to compare it to.

Ahh I saw a PSP at Best Buy and fell in love with it. I have to keep on telling myself I'm too old for one or else I'll blow a couple hundred on one. EEEK!

RE: for anyone with the PSP...
You can't be too old for a psp. Thats like saying you're too old to watch television or too old to do backflips. It just doesn't happen!

RE: for anyone with the PSP...
Damn it, where are you guys getting these 1GB memory stick duos? I only found a 512MB one. Me wants 2GB memory stick duo! Lumines' music is great, and Ridge Racer's graphics rule. SO I got both like Rob Almost picked up the MG Acid game, but I found out it was a card game (yuck!). Can't wait for GT4.

RE: for anyone with the PSP...
Cheapest I've found the 1gb has been $90 so I just bought a bunch of 512mb sticks for $30. How many eps of Family Guy can you stick on the 1gb? What format did you convert the clips to?

RE: for anyone with the PSP...
I have no idea which format they were-- it was whatever PSP9 converts to.
And I found that I can put Family Guy in there with perfect quality at 150mb/ep.
I currently have 6 episodes plus 40mb of music.

RE: for anyone with the PSP...
They're MP4 format. I agree with the use of PSP9 for converting video, it's greatness. Video is really tricky though, you have to make a folder for it outside the PSP folder on the memory stick duo, something like 100MV001 or something to that effect, then a folder inside that named MP_Root... bleh, the program itself makes it so that's all irrelevant info. MP4 files can also be played by quicktime.

RE: for anyone with the PSP...
Some updates: no one here probably has an import PSP from Japan but there is now a Gameboy and a Super Nintendo emulator for the japanese version PSP. If you have one you can pick up the software and play those games right off your memory card.
Just think that that is incredibly cool.

RE: for anyone with the PSP...
Anybody else modded/emulated their PSP yet? Did mine this past week. Playing all the old NES, SNES, Genesis, Gameboy/Color, Atari 2600 etc etc.. games on my PSP is freakin SWEET! . Currently working my way through Zelda: Link to the Past.
