That was my impression too DTL. The Lakers aren't going to get that kind of moneys production from him.

so long as they have Shaq, Kobe, and Rob Horry The Man, they'll go far in the playoffs, regardless.

But if they lose George, Mevendenko(sp?), etc then they might not go as far as they want. The WCFs this year did prove one thing: the Lakers are becoming more **mortal**. The main teams in the West are catching up quickly and if the Lakers don't solve their bench problems the Kings, Mavs, or SA may overtake them in the next year or two.

I think that several teams have caught the Lakers even if they keep those guys. But your point is a good one.
